The wait is over, Panther Nation! You have been patient, and we know you have been anxiously awaiting your chance to meet the 2025–2026 Panther Players. They slowed it down just a little this year, and the result is something truly special. Sit back and enjoy “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” performed by our Panther Players. Wishing the Panther Nation a season filled with joy, music, and togetherness.

What an incredible day at Navo! Our first College, Career, and Military Readiness Expo was filled with meaningful conversations and opportunities for our students to explore their futures. We are so proud of our students for asking questions, making connections, and taking steps toward their future goals. A heartfelt thank you to all of our presenters, partners, and staff who made this event a success. Your investment in our students truly makes a difference. This is what preparing students for the future looks like at Navo. #WeAreNavo #PantherProud #FutureReady

A Word from Our Principal - March 15 Hey There Panther Nation! I hope that your Spring Break was exceptional and filled with rest and quality time with family. It is hard to believe that we are now entering the final grading period of the school year. The next several weeks will be very busy as we finish the year strong together. We are just three weeks away from the Reading Language Arts STAAR test. Our students have been working hard and are well prepared. The growth we have seen this year has been encouraging. As always, a little extra practice at home can go a long way in helping students build confidence and strengthen the skills they have been learning in class. We are also beginning preparations for our 8th grade Promotion Ceremony. This year, Braswell High School’s graduation will take place in the late afternoon on the same day as our promotion ceremony is traditionally. Because some of our Panthers may have a brother or sister graduating that same day, we want to be mindful of families’ schedules and avoid any inconvenience. We are currently considering ceremony times and will share additional information with families soon. As we return from Spring Break, please remember that it will still be a little dark when students leave for school in the morning. For safety, please note that staff members do not arrive on campus until 7:45 a.m. Thank you for your continued support of Navo Middle School. As always, if you need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out. Warm regards, Principal Goodman

Thank you to all of our amazing families who came out to support Passport to Learning! Your partnership and your commitment to your child’s success truly make a difference. We loved seeing engaged families and proud Panthers! Be on the lookout for an email with your Panther’s Interim STAAR data, their individual STAAR goal, and specific ways you can support learning at home. The Interim results show where students are right now, and together we will use this information to help them grow even more before the spring STAAR. When school and home work together, our Panthers thrive. 🐾 #WeAreNavo #PantherPride #PassportToLearning

Navo families, AVID applications are now open! AVID supports students who are motivated to grow, strengthen their organization and study skills, and prepare for college and career opportunities. Scholars learn to advocate for themselves, collaborate with peers, and take on rigorous learning with confidence. Our AVID scholars engage in goal setting, critical thinking, leadership opportunities, and meaningful conversations about their future. They learn how to manage their time, ask strong questions, and take ownership of their learning while being supported by a dedicated team of educators. If your student is determined and ready to take the next step, we encourage you to apply and learn more about the program. We cannot wait to welcome our next group of AVID scholars at Navo!

A Word from Our Principal - Feb. 8 Hey there, Panther Nation! Happy Super Bowl Sunday. Patriots versus Seahawks. Who are you rooting for? I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Navo parent, Mr. Milam, for stepping in to help our campus after the winter storm. Late Monday night, he came out and spent about an hour helping break up the remaining ice around the building. We are incredibly grateful for supportive parents like Mr. Milam who take care of our school community. Big shoutout to you!! This week, our students will take the interim Math and Reading STAAR on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please encourage your Panther to come to school with their Chromebook fully charged and to bring their charger each day so they are ready to do their best. Because of the recent school closures, Passport to Learning has been moved to Thursday, February 26, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. We are excited to welcome families to campus for this special evening of learning, showcases, and celebration. Basketball postseason play also begins this week for our Lady Panther basketball teams and Panther basketball teams. We would love to see our community come out and support our teams. Home games at Navo on Thursday: • 7th grade boys vs. McMath at 5:30 PM • 8th grade boys vs. Lake Dallas at 6:30 PM Away games on Thursday: • 7th grade girls at Harpool at 5:30 PM • 8th grade girls at Strickland Coaches are asking everyone to pack the house and wear all white to support our Panthers. Happy National School Counselors Appreciation Week to the incredible team who pours into our students every single day. Ms. Barton, Ms. Hall, and Ms. Sanders go above and beyond to support, encourage, and advocate for our Panthers academically, socially, and emotionally. Their hearts for kids and commitment to our campus make a difference you can feel throughout the campus. Navo is stronger because of each of them. Panther Nation, help us celebrate our amazing counselors this week and thank them for all they do for our students and families.

A Word from Our Principal - February 1, 2026 Hey there, Panther Nation, Wow. We definitely did not expect to miss five full days of school. I hope your family stayed safe and warm during the winter weather. At this time, we know that two of the missed days will be covered by our designated bad weather days on April 3 and April 6. Denton ISD will be applying for a waiver with TEA for the remaining missed days. Once the district receives communication from TEA regarding the waiver, families will be informed if any additional days will need to be made up. As you can imagine, missing a full week of school has shuffled our schedules quite a bit. Here is what we know at this time: The basketball game originally scheduled for last week has been moved to tomorrow. Thursday will remain our regularly scheduled weekly game. The One Act Play is still scheduled for Tuesday. The fifth grade fine arts tour has been rescheduled. The reading and math interim STAAR assessments will be rescheduled, which will also require us to reschedule our Passport to Learning Night. More information and updated dates will be shared as soon as plans are finalized. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work through these adjustments. Please stay warm, and do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions. Always Panther Proud. See you tomorrow. Warm regards, Principal Goodman

Parents, are y’all still good? We know it’s been a few more days than expected, and you’re probably running low on snacks by now. We just wanted to check in and say we miss our Panthers so much. As a reminder, Denton ISD will email, text, call, and update all official Denton ISD social media accounts with a decision about tomorrow. Hang in there, Panther Nation. We can’t wait to see you soon

A Word from Our Principal - January 25 Good afternoon! I hope this message finds you and your family staying warm and safe. With our streets covered in a mix of sleet, snow, and ice, it is definitely feeling like winter has arrived quickly. Just last week, we were enjoying fall or spring-like temperatures, and now we are fully in winter mode. Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing through Tuesday morning, so please continue to use caution if you need to be out and about. I know our students are especially excited about the snow days, and I hope they are enjoying this unexpected time at home. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back on Wednesday and getting back into our routine together. If your kiddo needs something to work on while at home, I encourage them to hop on IXL and practice for about 15 minutes a day in both reading and math. This short, consistent practice really does make a difference and helps keep skills sharp. As always, thank you for your continued support! Please stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy this cozy winter weather. Warm regards, Principal Goodman

A Word from Our Principal - January 18 Hey there, Panther Nation! I hope this message finds you well and enjoying time together as a family. I am grateful for our strong partnership and wanted to share a few important updates for the week ahead. Please note that there will be no school tomorrow. We hope our Panthers enjoy the extra day of rest and return ready to learn. As always, attendance matters. Attendance leads to higher achievement, stronger relationships, and greater success for our students. Thank you for helping us reinforce the importance of being present and engaged every day. This Friday will serve as a progress check for students. Grades will be available in HAC next week. This progress check will also be used to determine UIL eligibility, which applies to all UIL opportunities, including fine arts, athletics, and academic competitions. Please continue to encourage your child to stay focused and complete all assignments. This Wednesday and Thursday, our 8th grade students will be taking the interim Science and Social Studies STAAR assessments. Please remind your child to come to school with their Chromebook fully charged and ready for testing. A good night’s rest and a positive mindset make a big difference. Finally, mark your calendars for something new and exciting at Navo. Passport to Learning will take place on February 3 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. You are invited to join us for a night of discovering what your child is learning, enjoying fine arts and elective showcases, interactive experiences, prizes, and food trucks. We are thrilled to open our doors in a new way and share Panther learning with our families. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. It is truly a joy serving the Navo community. Warm regards, Principal Goodman

A Word from Our Principal - January 4, 2026 Hey there, Panther Nation, Welcome back and hello 2026. I hope that you had an amazing winter break, spent meaningful time with loved ones, and were able to enjoy some well deserved rest. We are excited to welcome our Panthers back and begin a strong second semester together. School resumes for students on Tuesday, January 6, with doors opening at 8:15 a.m. We are looking forward to a semester filled with learning, growth, and exciting events for our students and families. Before the break, students completed the middle of the year IXL diagnostic assessment. We will use this data alongside beginning of the year diagnostics, common assessment data, and STAAR results to design targeted instructional groups for the remainder of the school year. We continue to see the greatest growth from students who consistently practice IXL at home. Just 15 minutes each night truly makes a difference. Over the next two weeks, please look for an email from me with an update on your child’s academic progress this school year. That communication will also include guidance on how you can support your child at home. In February, we will begin preparing opportunities for in person parent teacher communication focused on supporting student academic growth. These opportunities will provide time to partner, ask questions, and discuss strategies to help students continue progressing through the remainder of the school year. More information regarding dates and scheduling will be shared soon. Once again, welcome back. We cannot wait to see our students next week and continue working together to support their success. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am here to help. Warm regards, Principal Goodman
