I saw that video and my blood started boiling because any search that has to happen in a "corner" away from the owner’s eyes is not a search—it is a setup. Why must you carry a man's bag to a dark spot if your hands are clean? In this Nigeria, we have seen too many "miracles" happen in those corners where evidence suddenly appears from nowhere. If you are a professional officer of the law, you should have nothing to hide. You do your job right there where the sun is shining and where the citizen can see his property. Once you move that bag out of sight, you have broken the Standard of policing and invited suspicion. We cannot keep quiet and let this "corner-corner" business become our normal. Integrity is not just for the citizens; it must start with the men in uniform. If we don't demand an open and honest search today, anyone can be the next victim of a "planted" story tomorrow. This has to stop!
