@DrJoeAbah Better camping facilities should be top priority then increased allowance all others should be left in place, the scheme should not be scrapped at all, this is what most graduates hope on as a source of livelihood atleast for 12 months

Based on the reactions to this by reasonable people, most of the concerns seem to be about the length of the camp stay and the quality of it. Many want it to be shorter than 6 weeks and be more impactful.
Many are supportive of ensuring that state governments first provide better camping facilities.
Many like the risk-sensitive approach to posting Corpers to places with insecurity issues.
Many would want more extensive consultations with serving Corpers, recent former Corpers and potential employers.
Many like the focus on entrepreneurship but feel that most of it can be done online and spread throughout the service year.
Many think that the allowance of Corpers should be increased.
Some have suggested giving Corpers money to start businesses, although this was covered by the access-to-finance proposals already mentioned.
Some want the military to continue to be involved in the camp, even if the leadership of the corps is made civilian.
Some want the scheme scrapped entirely. Others don’t.
Some think it should be voluntary. Others don’t.

NYSC REFORMS: On camping, the approved proposal is two weeks of civic, leadership, and life skills training; two weeks of basic accounting and financial literacy, access to finance, business planning, and career mapping; and the last two weeks would be a short immersion into your area of interest. So, you may have read English but be really interested in tech, environment and climate, or the creative sector. Camps will be certified and graded to ensure that they meet minimum standards. State governments will be given a grace period during which to ensure they meet the standards for infrastructure, accommodation, safety and security and healthcare. Posting will ordinarily be done impersonally using an algorithm that considers factors like state of origin, state of residence, school attended, etc. Posting to security flashpoints will be risk-sensitive and people who are not indigenes of those areas or are already residing in those areas should not be posted there. Regarding the timing of commencement and wider consultation, the NYSC Act would need to be amended for the changes to take effect. This should include public consultations and public hearings. Every legislation passed and assented to is a product of a series of compromises. Good morning.

I want to appeal to everyone regarding this young lady’s situation. I don’t know her personally, but I genuinely feel for her. You can judge her or criticize her if you want, but I don’s think that’s what she needs at this point.
I know people on Twitter advised her years ago to go back home, listen to her parents, and live responsibly, but she refused. Instead, she responded with abuse and insults before eventually leaving Twitter because of the backlash.
That notwithstanding, if you know anyone who can genuinely help her, please encourage them to reach out to her. This young lady needs serious help and rehabilitation at this point. This is not the time for insults or mockery. She is obviously going through significant mental health challenges and needs professional support.
I sincerely wish her healing and all the very best in her endeavors.
