@marcmcflurry One word of caution though is that I find some eiders have a tendency to show small sails when in active display to females

Travelled to see the Starling murmuration at Lough Ennell over the weekend. Truly awe-inspiring #Ireland

@_Stickybeak Glad it stuck around for you. Very pleased to see my first one on Rathlin!

Great to hear from @NealWarnock that there was a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper in Mill Bay this afternoon! Luckily still there this evening rummaging around in the rotting seaweed with Dunlins and Ruddy Turnstones. Just the third record for Rathlin and the first since Sep 2022

Well this was a nice surprise for a dreary afternoon - RING-NECKED DUCK, a new bird species for Rathlin! Cannily predicted by @NealWarnock, except it happened to be just up the road on Craigmacagan Lough 😄

@_Stickybeak I’ll go for Ring-necked Duck at Ushet Lough.

@BMcCloskey_98 Great read Brian. Those moments of utter panic and everyone scrambling up to the grass. Can’t beat the Bridges!

Irish seawatching does not get better than this! Three Barolo Shearwaters, South Polar Skua and a Fea’s Petrel today. Worth the read…
