Doesn’t work like that. Of course he’s very early, but long term, the work starts now. If he continues exclusively working on t20 cricket and not honing in the fundamentals required for the longer forms, he will not get there. And that would be a great shame.
And btw, that doesn’t mean he needs to cede what currently works. Guys like Head have set the template to succeed in all three formats.

@Nealbackup You cannot put Vibhav & late in the same sentence lol. He's probably a decade early. 😄

A talent like this HAS to be nurtured for the longer forms too. You’ve got to start putting in the work now, before it’s too late. Clearly very special.

If Vaibhav Sooryavanshi takes down Hazlewood today...the only question should be whether you give him window seat or aisle seat on the plane for that T20I series against England in June

@Beepbleep351 @OpinionAdarsh Thank you! That is literally the only point. It was surprising to see, especially given I’d never heard of him. I’m sure he’s known it domestic circles, but still very “random” in the grand scheme.
English

@OpinionAdarsh @Nealbackup Indians arent known for express fast bowlers
English

I genuinely can’t believe how strange some people are 😂
Yes, yes I would have. “Indian” isn’t even an ethnicity ffs.

@Nealbackup Why "random Indian lad?" If this was someone of WI or SENA origin, would you have mentioned ethnicity?
English

@saaleesh Yep, that’s the point. It’s the tactical aspect, adds more to the game.
English

@Nealbackup Fully agree, slow pitches need it to keep the full 20 overs interesting and tactically could make things very interesting
English

@Nealbackup No way. In a tournament where 220 is being chased with ease we do not need another batting oriented rule
