No doubt Beijing would be happy with this response. Asked about the Chinese Air Force PLA-AF releasing flares in front of an ADF helicopter, Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says it's important to have a 'mature response'. Astonishingly, he chooses this moment to berate the former government for the Chinese Communist Party's decision to cut off communications with Australia. But as for his own communications with China/Xi to express Australia's position, he said it was communicated through Canberra and in Beijing. He reiterated his slogan of 'we'll disagree where we must, but we will engage in our national interest'. What is the point of 'winning back' comms with China to then not be able to/want to use them when they conduct dangerous and unprovoked and illegal behaviour against the Australian military?
