Police in the Bahamas have released Brian Hooker, the husband of Lynette Hooker, who disappeared on a boat ride 10 days ago. Brian Hooker was questioned in the case, but not charged. He told police his wife fell overboard as they were going from one island to another. cbsn.ws/4ca9Evp

the people who may have been involved in businesses there are dying of old age, and the story will be gone forever. But I can't help wondering what Haiti might be like today if the AIDS epidemic hadn't stopped them. I imagine Port Au Prince just as desirable as Miami Beach 😊

This was in the 80's, gay people were starting businesses there, but the AIDS epidemic shut it all down. (That's probably why "Travel to Haiti" was considered an HIV risk factor in the early days of the epidemic when a reason for HIV was still unknown.) As the years go by,

Nine-year-old Leah Lendel is now recovering after surviving a shark attack off the Florida coast last week. She said she felt “something hard” bite her and try to “tug me away” — then, she noticed blood. Marine experts say while shark bites are rare and usually nonfatal, warm water and more bait could mean sharks coming closer to shore in the coming months.
