No child should be left behind—inside or outside the classroom.
Today, I received Hon. Mohammad Abba Isa, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, alongside Dr. James David Lalu, former pioneer Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, for a critical conversation on advancing inclusive education in Nigeria.
We discussed the Renewed Hope National Programme on Inclusive and Accessible Education—a bold, system-wide framework to ensure that children with disabilities—whether out of school or already in our classrooms—are fully supported to learn, thrive, and succeed.
The reality is clear: while many children with disabilities remain out of school, millions more are already in our classrooms but still face significant barriers—from inaccessible infrastructure to limited specialised teaching support. This must change—and it will.
Through this programme, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we are working towards:
• Enrolling 2 million children with disabilities into education
• Retrofitting 10,000 public schools for accessibility
• Training 100,000 teachers in inclusive pedagogy
• Expanding access to assistive technologies and learning materials
Next steps are clear: we will convene an expanded meeting with heads of agencies and directors across the Federal Ministry of Education to align on policy direction and accelerate implementation.
This is about more than policy—it’s about dignity, equity, and unlocking the potential of every Nigerian child.
Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we are building an education system that truly works for all.
Because real progress means no one is left behind.

Normally I use GUO transport when I’m traveling by road, but today I decided to use a not-so-popular transport company.
From Aba to Abuja shouldn’t take more than nine hours. In case you don’t see my posts every two hours from now until twenty-four hours, help me raise an alarm.
Wish me God’s protection from bandits looking for 400 women.

FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
PRESS RELEASE
20 April 2026
SINGLED OUT FOR IMPACT: DR. MARUF TUNJI ALAUSA, CON, WINS MOST INNOVATIVE CABINET MINISTER OF THE YEAR 2025
The Nigerian education sector congratulates the Honourable Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, on receiving the Most Innovative Cabinet Minister of the Year 2025 award at the Silver Jubilee Awards organised by Independent Newspapers Limited in Lagos.
The recognition followed a rigorous selection process involving public voting, jury assessment, and editorial review, celebrating leadership, innovation, and measurable public sector impact.
The award comes amid major reforms under the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), focused on access, quality, equity, and alignment with national development priorities.
Key achievements include the revitalisation of TVET, expansion of STEMM education through rehabilitation of medical schools and engineering faculties, support for student innovation through the Student Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG), and the strengthening of digital education systems through the Nigerian Education Data Infrastructure (NEDI).
The Ministry has also intensified efforts to reduce out-of-school children, strengthen girls’ education, support teachers, and improve school infrastructure nationwide.
Dr. Alausa expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to sustained reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

2026 Batch 'A' Stream II Orientation Course: Date For Enugu And Osun States
Prospective Corps Members deployed to Enugu and Osun states are to note that the Orientation Exercise for these states will commence on Tuesday, 28th April 2026, and end on Monday, 18th May, 2026; one week after Commencement in the other 34 states and the FCT.
This slight adjustment is due to the on-going extensive renovation of the Camps by the State Governments which has necessitated the change in date.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Orientation Exercise for all other states and the FCT is scheduled to be held from Wednesday, 22nd April 2026 - Tuesday 12th May 2026.
Affected Prospective Corps Members are to duly note these differing dates for compliance, please.
The NYSC wishes all Prospective Corps Members a safe journey to their states of deployment.
Thank you.

Unlucky!!! The Arsenal boys gave it everything. It was a day when fire was needed, and the boys did almost everything right, but unlucky with finishing. The battle is on. Now is the time for the players to stand up and fight until the very end. It’s fire 4 fire now. 💪
