I will be attending @acm_chi #chi2025 in Japan next week to present my 1st, first-authored CHI paper! Since my infant will accompany me, I will only attend the sessions on Monday and part of Tuesday. I would love to meet new people and catch up with old friends while I am there

@JessicaCalarco That’s my (almost) 5 yo’s argument too. If she wants something and I tell her it’s expensive, she’d ask me to go work some more 🤷🏼‍♀️

@fungi_lover @Momademia I remember doing that! unfortunately I felt very unwelcome in that party since I knew no one, and the other moms seemed to know each other and preferred socializing together while I (and my daughter) stayed isolated. I stopped RSVPing to daycare bdays after that

On a personal level,this work helped me define my vulnerabilities, & to discover my strengths emerging from amalgamation of my intersecting identities.Shoutout also to @AcademicChatter #phdlife #phdchat @Momademia & @mothersinsci,which aided our search of potential collaborators
