🚨 Dear @narendramodi ji, a question from millions of taxpayers: When global crude prices were at rock bottom, Indians were still paying ₹100–₹110 per litre for petrol. Now when crude prices are rising again… Prices are still high. 👉 So when exactly does the common man benefit? Let’s look at the bigger picture: Over the years, the government has generated massive revenues from multiple sources: • Fuel excise duties were sharply increased after 2014, even when crude was cheap • GST expanded indirect taxation across almost every product and service • Record RBI surplus transfers (₹1.76 lakh crore in 2019 alone) • Aggressive disinvestment and monetisation of public assets 👉 In simple terms: When times were good, collections were at record highs. But today: • Fuel prices are still elevated • Cost of living continues to rise • Middle class and small businesses feel the pressure 👉 This raises a simple but important question: If the government collected heavily during low crude prices, why isn’t there meaningful relief now? We understand global uncertainties exist. We understand economic challenges are real. But citizens also remember: 👉 We paid when crude was low 👉 We are paying when crude is high So again, respectfully asking: When will the benefits of those “good times” reach the common taxpayer? Or are we expected to keep absorbing the pressure… in every cycle?
