@Geniustechw As far as I know, there is no medical procedure to change your chromosomes between XX and XY. If some doctor convinced you that if you have those surgeries it will turn you into a female, they lied. They did it to make money, not for your benefit.

@AZ_Brittney You do not have to be a citizen to get a driver's license or fly. You should already have a birth certificate and marriage license (as needed), naturalization certificate (as needed). If you lost it, that's on you. It is pretty easy to get an official copy if you've lost yours.

@XCarcallaX @mcsquared34 If I take a loss on a stock transaction, do I get to deduct the loss when figuring my FICA tax? When I make a withdrawal from my IRA, do I have to pay FICA tax? IRA contributions are income tax deferred but not FICA tax. So, I would be paying FICA tax on IRA money twice.

@XCarcallaX @mcsquared34 So, you want to convert Social Security from a forced retirement savings program to just a welfare system. I am retired & living off my savings invested mostly in the stock market. It isn't much, but you want me to pay Social Security taxes on my meager retirement income.

@Sadie_NC I doubt if that notice is real. The restaurant would lose too many customers. Put the meal price on the menu and tell people that the price includes tip & no additional tip is expected or required but would be accepted if the customer desires.

@dom_de_la_rose @mcsquared34 It is also a Ponzi scheme in a way. Social Security act was passed in 1935. A lump sum payment & taxes started in 1937, & first monthly benefits started in 1940. So, the first people got benefits paying tax for 3 years. Today, you must work 40 quarters (10 years) to qualify.

@sathyashrii The US was founded on individual freedom and responsibility and minimal government. If you don't work and plan for your own future, it is not the government's fault or responsibility. The people are caring though & many private charities are available to help.

@allabouttheUV @k2__investment @unusual_whales In a way, Social Security is racist, since life expectancy for blacks, American Indian, and Alaska Natives is much lower and thus will collect fewer total benefits over their lifetimes. Privatization would solve that as well.

The benefit is paid based on income yes, but the amount paid is not linked. SSA has won in court numerous times that there is no “paid in” balance you are owed. If you pass away a month into retirement, the benefit ends. We would have been better off if that money had been forced into an IRA like account to sit and bear interest for you that could be passed to descendants. But Congress wanted more access to your cash.

@allabouttheUV @k2__investment @unusual_whales If Social Security were privatized, the money could be passed down to your heirs into their retirement accounts. Over the generations, more people would be able to retire comfortably as the accounts grow in value.

@allabouttheUV @k2__investment @unusual_whales I agree with you that privatizing Social Security is the right thing to do. George W. Bush suggested that it be done with at least a small portion of the tax, voluntarily, and was vilified for even suggesting it by the media and the Democrats.
