Emperor Caradoc is the one they all have to beat with strong C&D form and a profit over the track and trip. But the bet of the day for me is Duskaura. She ran at Goodwood last time after an 80‑day break and shaped really well, finishing fourth and not beaten far at all. She was held up, which wasn’t ideal as the winner made all. That was Class 4 off 73 — now she drops to 71 into Class 5. She used to be with Archie Watson and won for that yard at Ripon. Since switching yards she’s been sliding down the handicap, and this stable is shrewd — they know exactly how to get one ready. I’m hoping they sit just behind the pace; I wouldn't want her too far back early. The jockey shows a strong level‑stakes profit for the trainer, and everything points to a big run. 2pt Win – Duskaura 10-1

Kings Cavalry sets the standard after winning his last two, the latest by a nose, and now up to 85. He’s short enough in the market but the trainer has a strong record with last‑time‑out winners, so he’s entitled to run well. Hes Waliim returns from 98 days off, but the yard actually shows a profit with horses returning from a 90‑day break, so he’s interesting. Spirit Of Saxony was runner‑up over C&D last time and the mark of 85 still looks workable — the form has already been boosted with the fifth winning off 87. Pace-wise, this doesn’t look like it’ll be overly strong early, and that brings me to the one I want: Riches Rocket. He ran at Ascot last time over a trip that really stretched him. At one stage he travelled well but faded late when stamina ran out, finishing 17th. Dropping back to 7f in a race that should go steadier is ideal. The trainer is 10–55 in the last 14 days, and this looks a very fair price for a horse who should be much more comfortable over this trip. He’s overpriced and holds a very solid chance. 1pt Win – Riches Rocket 12-1
