To the students at Royal West Academy: Know that you are stronger than you know, more resilient than you realize, and infinitely capable of driving meaningful change in your school, your community, and the world. Your ideas, your questions, and your courage matter. You have voices. Speak them. Your safety and dignity deserve protection from haters, and your future is worth fighting for. Together, we can make things better. I won't just stand with you. I'll have your back. Feel free to reach out.

You're "appalled" and call on the regime "to respect human rights"? And what "international law" has this regime ever upheld over the last 49 years? You do know it's Iranian missile tech and Iranian-made drones that are being used against the Ukrainian people, right? With all due respect ma'am, if you're just preferring the private jetsetting and big paycheques over any sense of policy-think, you're showing it well.
Anita Anand@AnitaAnandMP

Canada is appalled by the Iranian Government’s execution of a Swedish citizen in Iran. We offer our deepest condolences to the family and express our full solidarity with Sweden. Canada continues to call on the Iranian regime to respect human rights and uphold their responsibilities under international law.

Someone needs to explain how Bill C‑9 magically gives police the “tools they need” to “combat hate,” when what you see below is already illegal under Section 319(2). That first sign? Held openly in front of a police officer. What happened? Nothing. Carney, Ford, Chow, and their representatives? This failure is a collective and deliberate. Have you seen their demographics? To everyone staying silent, selling out for crumbs, posting performative “not my Canada” statements: you’re not part of the solution; you're part of the problem. To everybody else - don’t let hate define this country. Wake up. Rise up. Demand better. Get better.

About time. Now what about the demonstrations planned for Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver? What say you former Liberal Cabinet Minister and now Mayor of Montreal @SorayaMartinezF? Or @JeromyYYC? @KenSimCity? @francoislegault? @Dave_Eby? @ABDanielleSmith? You're all still okay with a day created by Iran's regime to express hate for Jews?
Doug Ford@fordnation

This afternoon, I’ve instructed my Attorney General to pursue an injunction against the Al-Quds Day demonstration planned for Toronto. Hate, violence and intimidation have no place on the streets of Canada and our government will fight it however we can.

Blame "OUR" government for what? We're supposed to be the "fastest growing economy in the G7". Hasn't that been re-gurged on end for at least the last five years if not ten even though that's demonstrably false? Has Trump caused new units of homebuilding to fall? The massive structural deficits even when he wasn't in power? Eroded foreign investment capital in Canada outside of M&A? If Carney wants to boast about "creating jobs" like he has for the last number of months, let him take his beating when they are being eliminated. If he was a "smart businessman" that people connect with him, he would have known never to swim in that water in the first place. Yet here we are.
Marc Lévesque@MarcLevesqueEco

Oh C’mon. Trump has unleashed economic turmoil across the world and you blame OUR government? You think this is OUR fault? Tired of politicians either taking credit for job gains (at least we won’t have the Libs going there this time) or blaming their opponents for job losses.

And just like that, the fall uptick evaporates. Youth unemployment now up to 14%. It's almost as if there was a lot of seasonal work from October through the end of the year and it disappeared and then some. If you don't believe this was part of the reason why the Liberals are trying to in-house manufacturing a majority in Parliament, it's because you're not paying attention. Do better. Get better.

We've all been there—that hollow emptiness and the feeling that nothing sparks anymore. It's brutal, but know you're not alone, and don't let this feeling define you. Take a break from the keyboard. Take a walk outside. Talk to a real-life friend. The void can be filled. You do great work and you have supporters. It sparks - even among those who may not like what they see. You've got resilience. Never be afraid to reach out.

You, sir, and your boss have said a lot over the last 2+ years. Done? Absolute zero. Just like your pals in Ottawa. Anything - words, money, papers, commissions - but admitting failure.

Met with Israel’s Ambassador to Canada, @MoedIddo, and Israel’s Consul General in Toronto, @ShamirIdit, in a critical meeting led by Premier @fordnation and joined by my colleagues.   The Premier reiterated that our government will fight to combat antisemitism with absolute resolve.    We will continue working closely with all levels of government and law enforcement partners to ensure that the Jewish community’s safety is at the very core of our collective priorities. @IsraelinToronto @IsraelinCanada @IsraelMFA @UJAFederation @CIJAinfo @bnaibrithcanada @CanadianFSWC @Sflecce @MichelleC_PC @laurasthornhill @Andrea_Khanjin @VictorFedeli @StanChoMPP @BramptonGraham

The two synogogues that were pelted with bullets last week had already received $200k from the same program (and predecessor.) Where did all the "CCTV cameras", and "fences", and "gates" and "hate-motivated incident response unit" go? Where are the arrests? When do the deportations start for the estimated 700 IRGC agents? Isn't this new funding just an admission of failure in the form of "Here you people - go add some bullet-proof glass. Leave us alone"? Do these people seriously believe that safety and security and equal protection for Jews can just be traded off for cash? We can do better than this. WAY better.

Jewish Canadians, like all Canadians, should never have to their that they are under attack in places of worship, schools, or community spaces. In response to the recent rise in hate-motivated incidents in Toronto and across the country, our government is investing up to $10 million through the Canada Community Security Program (CCSP) to help Jewish institutions strengthen security at gathering spaces such as schools, daycares, camps, and places of worship. We also are pressing to pass our Combatting Hate Legislation which will protect all religions and people in their places of worship. We will continue working closely with community leaders and law enforcement to confront antisemitism and keep Canadians safe, and make sure the perpetrators are speedily brought to justice.

"Emboldened antisemitism that has no place in Toronto"? And whom do you think has been responsible for that emboldening under their watch? Telegraphing empathy from a script too obviously whipped up by a crisis management strategist playing with their ChatGPT account is not a convincing look. Face it, Ms. Chow - you're not part of the solution; you're part of the problem.
Mayor Olivia Chow 🇨🇦@MayorOliviaChow

Once again, a synagogue in our city has been targeted. Shot at in the middle of the night. This is a violent act of intimidation — and part of a pattern of emboldened antisemitism that has no place in Toronto. It must be stopped. Today, @TPSMyronDemkiw and I met to discuss the ongoing work to keep the Jewish community safe in our city.

"There is no better place in the world to be a Jew than here in Canada". Not uttered in a room full of Liberals thirty years ago. Or three years ago. It was three months ago. And they applauded. Why? Because they believe it to be true. They really do. Now you're being told that they're really going to put a stop to the hate and aggression and they mean it this time. Because they've done such great results over the last ten years combatting it as @HillelNeuer chronicles below. Stop enabling them. Do better. Get better.
Hillel Neuer@HillelNeuer

Gunshots fired last night at two Toronto synagogues. A third was attacked Monday. Canada now leads the world in gunfire attacks on Jewish institutions. When leaders tolerate mobs targeting Jewish neighborhoods, and apply a double standard to Israel, extremists hear the signal.

Waking up to the news of yet another night of gunshots fired into synagogues, this time over the Sabbath. Call this what it is: an attempt to terrorize the Jewish community. Synagogues are places where families gather, where seniors pray, where children learn. Targeting them with gunfire is meant to spread fear, intimidation - and yes, terror. It is disgusting and sadly becoming commonplace in Canada. Those responsible must be found, prosecuted, and made an example of. And in the meantime, there must be increased police patrols and protection around synagogues and Jewish institutions immediately. Everywhere. Jewish Canadians should never have to fear walking into their place of worship. Time for governments to stop being “shocked” and “appalled” while send “thoughts” and “prayers”.

Appalled at the shootings targeting Shaarei Shomayim and Beth Avraham Yoseph Synagogues of Toronto. The Jewish Community is under attack in Canada. Government’s core responsibility is the safety of its people. It is time to end this violence once and for all. We stand in total solidarity with the Jewish people for freedom and safety in Canada and everywhere.
