Ukraine is presently experiencing its best season of the war since fall 2022. Russian progress across nearly the entire frontline is halted, while medium- and long-range strikes cripple Russian industry and logistics. To replace the man at the head of this would be lunacy.

When i’m in Ukraine, i’m gonna make a point of learning Crimean Tatar. Ever since I chose to learn Ukrainian + Russian, learning other languages has become a genuine, niche hobby. Especially ones that share mutual intelligibility w/others. Slavic languages are my fav, though.

Something that’s actually been kind of cool while being in Syria is that (and those who know me will know that I love languages that use Cyrillic script), i’ve been able to pick up on some of the basics of Adyghe and Uzbek while here. Not Slavic languages, but still really cool.
