@AndrewWappat @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews Nice shot. Don’t think it’s the same bird that I’ve been seeing recently in the area. Only ever seen singly

Raven, Commondale
Battle-weary individual cronking mid-afternoon today. Incidental spot whilst hoping the wheatears have returned. @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews

Worthy of its own post. The stunning black redstart at Skinningrove boat yard this afternoon. A joy watching it forage only a few metres away. @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews @Natures_Voice #birdwatching

@ciaranshaman @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews @Natures_Voice Well done Ciaran. Not even a common snipe there this morning

Haven't been able to get out for a while so a real treat to get to Margrove this afternoon and find a life ✅ with a jack snipe bobbing up & down feeding at the far bank. @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews @Natures_Voice
English

@johaphotography @teesbirds1 Don't think so. Last sighting for me was 19 September at Commondale but haven't heard of any sightings since.

@teesbirds1 Are the WTEs still around the Commondale area? Am thinking about going on a spotting trip tomorrow.

8 x whooper swans at Margrove this afternoon. Usually the mute swans see them straight off, but with the mutes currently being elsewhere the whoopers have settled to rest & feed. Fabulous to see & hear them. @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews @Natures_Voice

@BenJacksonnnn By the cattle grid looking towards Commondale is the best bet. 2.00 pm and 7.00 pm seem popular times.

@NeilSimms1 @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews @teeswildlife @DurhamBirdClub Hi mate I have been a few times to try and see it and had no luck 🍀 do you have any idea what area it sits around in or what area it appears from? Just going to try and visit in next few days again 👍🏻

@NeilSimms1 No. Drive past car park (heading west) and park at first pull in on right.

As previously mentioned FORESRY ENGLAND have asked that birders do not attempt to access the Raptor Viewpoint until clearance work has been completed.
A track a few hundred metres to the west gives alternative access to open views over Troutsdale.
THANK YOU!

If you go down to the Wykeham woods today, you're in for a big surprise - path to the viewpoint is literally covered by 10s of fallen trees. Difficult task getting to the seats, but worth it today with 3 pairs of goshawk displaying for lengthy periods. @teesbirds1 @NYBIRDNEWS
