My daughter’s lemonade stand was struggling, so we pivoted to AI compute. She’s been acquired by Microsoft for $1.2 billion.

@LilithBlack25 @VusiThembekwayo - Make all politicians use public schools, public healthcare & public transport. - Bar them from investing in the private sector at all. - Proper systems of measuring deliverables & consequences for failing. But guess who must implement all this??? Same politicians!!!

If you paid even a penny in federal income tax last year, you paid more than: Tesla Southwest Disney Live Nation HP United PayPal CVS Health Palantir Citigroup PG&E 3M That's right. They paid $0 in federal income tax. It's time for big corporations to pay their fair share.

This story is insane: • american streamer goes to south korea to do content like a lunatic • dances on a memorial for wwii sex slaves, plays north korean propaganda on the subway, throws ramen at a store owner like a psychopath • the country puts a BOUNTY on his location • a former korean navy seal finds him and knocks him out cold on a live stream • he gets arrested, charged with 8 counts including deepfake sexual violence crimes • shows up to his first court date an hour late, hungover, in a maga hat • calls south korea a "us vassal state" in open court • prosecution asks for 3 years hard labor • his mom files a petition begging the judge for leniency • his last words before sentencing: "i haven't done anything to offend anyone during these proceedings, which shows i learned my lesson" • judge sentences him anyway, has him handcuffed in the courtroom on the spot • and when he finally gets deported back to america, he has to register as a sex offender

Canceling a gym membership shouldn't require a hostage negotiation. I joined a local fitness club three years ago and stopped going almost immediately. Yesterday I finally decided to stop paying the monthly fee. I logged into their app. There is no cancel button anywhere in the UI. I checked the website and it told me to call support. Support told me I had to submit a cancellation request in person. I drove to the gym on my lunch break. The manager looked at me like I was abandoning a puppy. He asked why I was leaving. I told him my personal ROI on this membership is completely negative. He offered to freeze my account for a small maintenance fee. I told him I just want to sever ties entirely. He sighed and said I need to provide a handwritten letter of intent and thirty days notice. I am currently drafting a formal breakup letter to an elliptical machine. I might just cancel my credit card. It seems easier.

"Making 100k a year is a great achievement" is relative. In most major cities that's just getting by, especially if you're a single income household. The Internet isn't fooling anyone. That's not enough in today's world. Look at how companies profit progressed vs incomes.
theficouple@theficouple

78% of adults in the US make less than $100k per year. Don’t let the internet fool you. Making $100,000 or more per year is still a great achievement.
