In my Texas town we had a little joint that had a cooler you couls get Mexican ice cream bars (paletas) from. And if you haven’t had paletas brother you are in for a treat. They had tamarind, melon, lemon, tuna (i.e., cactus), apple, coconut, you name it. Anyway I was grabbing a dozen or so to take home, and I saw they had cucumber y chile flavor! So I bought a cucumber paleta to prank my son with. My plan was when he asked for a paleta I’d hand him the cucumber & chile one, he’d gag, I’d cackle. All good fun. Anyway, the next day I wanted a paleta and grabbed one without noticing it was the cucumber. Friends that was the most refreshing best paleta I’d ever had for a Texas summer. After that i bought them non-ironically.
