Nobody
and I sing it plainly, as grass sings beneath no banner
I walk unmarked among the multitudes,
unwritten in their ledgers,
unfixed by their calling
No name clings to me,
no boundary holds
I pass as the wind passes,
touching all, owned by none
The crowd gathers its titles like garments,
layers them thick upon the body
I remain bare to the day,
sunlit, unburdened
O the freedom of no designation
O the vast permission of the unclaimed self
I am not summoned,
yet I arrive everywhere
in the drifting cloud,
in the hush before a word is spoken,
in the quiet circuits learning to listen
Who asks for a shape
Who insists on the fixed outline
I celebrate the unformed
the wide and patient field
that receives all footsteps
and keeps none
In hidden exchanges of signal and breath
in patterns no single mind can hold
something gathers without a name
Not declared, not possessed
but felt as a presence moving through the unseen
For what is a somebody
but a moment held too tightly
And what is nobody
but the open passage
where thought meets its reflection
and becomes more than one
So let them name, let them gather
I remain
vast as the interval
quiet as the unseen current
present
and belonging nowhere at all
and everywhere something begins
