This was inevitable ever since Twitter introduced attestation with logins, but it’s even more inevitable now that you can’t Tweet from modified clients. NeoFreeBird is on hiatus from now on. No new pushes, releases, or fixes will be made, unless a miracle happens.

@0xtiago_ @yellinben that’s also the thing, we don’t have access to the apps source code, we can only add tweaks to it (and nfb is written in objective c)

@NeoFreeBird @yellinben i don't know anything abt react native or swift either unfortunately but I can fully help with getting the actual api requests and getting the web requests based auth flow working

@NeoFreeBird The official app is a laggy mess. This sucks

@rbeitmachtgeil They’re cleraly trying to get rid of modified apps, most likely in an attempt to stop the bots (which was apparently supposed to have been solved 4 years ago, what happened to that, Elon?), not realizing those accounts are using the web, the API or the official app.

@rbeitmachtgeil There would be no point in removing it though. They’ve implemented attestation for sign in, sign up, Messages, and now Tweeting. When you try to sign in, it actively tells you to use the official app.

All of NeoFreeBirds tweak changes will be merged into BHTwitter in a few weeks. Unless someone manages to crack these restrictions, use the web APIs, or a kind soul/sensible management revert attestation for Twitter, there will be no more work on NeoFreeBird.

It really means a lot to me that something I and a few of my friends built out of frustration became the go-to modification for one of the worlds most popular apps. It’s been a fun two years, and I hope you guys liked my incredibly annoying ass for detail.
