Ambassadors/Heads of Diplomatic Mission resident in Kathmandu paid a joint courtesy call on Rt. Hon. Mr Balendra Shah, Prime Minister of Nepal, at his Office in Singhadurbar today. Ambassadors/Heads of Mission of India, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, United Kingdom, Qatar, Switzerland, France, Israel, Japan, Bangladesh, Germany, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, China, United States of America and United Nations were present for the joint call on. The Ambassadors/Heads of Missions congratulated the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister and conveyed greetings and messages from their respective heads of state/government. They also expressed support and cooperation to the new Government in delivering results for the benefit of Nepali people. Reiterating Nepal’s balanced and pragmatic foreign policy, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of deepening relations with immediate neighbours, friendly countries and development partners based on trust, mutual respect and shared prosperity. He expressed appreciation for the continued goodwill and support extended to Nepal’s development efforts. Saying that peace must remain our shared priority, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance the Government attaches to the safety, security and well-being of Nepali workers and the larger Nepali diaspora abroad. The Prime Minister also highlighted the Government’s determination to ensure good governance, achieve economic development and improve the livelihood of Nepali people. Foreign Minister Hon. Hon. Mr Shisir Khanal assumed office as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal today. Foreign Secretary Mr Amrit Bahadur Rai and senior officials warmly welcomed the Hon. Minister at the Ministry. The Foreign Secretary briefed the Hon. Minister on the work of the Ministry and assured him of their continued dedication and commitment in carrying out responsibilities under his leadership. Upon assuming office, the newly appointed Minister took a decision to expand the online system of the Department of Consular Services to ensure more efficient and effective service delivery. The Hon. Minister also instructed the MoFA team to work in a more innovative and impactful manner, in line with the aspirations of the people.

Ambassador of Nepal to Brazil @NirmalRKafle met with the delegation of State Government of Pernambuco in Recife and exchanged views prospects of economic collaborations, including in trade, investment and tourism, and strengthening cultural connections.

In Recife, Amb. @NirmalRKafle met Mr. Milton Tavares, Vice-President, Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism and Ms. Goretti Gomes, Director of @senacpe. They discussed potential partnerships in bilateral trade and investment.

Amb @NirmalRKafle visited @SERPRO to explore ways to promote bilateral business linkages through digital platforms. In a meeting with the team led by Business Director André Agatte, both sides exchanged best practices and discussed potential collaboration in the digital sector.

Amb. @NirmalRKafle received H.E. Chaminda I. Colonne, Amb. of Sri Lanka to Brazil. They exchanged views on friendship between Nepal and Sri Lanka, and cooperation at the Embassy level reflecting neighbourhood spirit and shared interests.

Members of the Asia-Oceania Ladies Association (AOLA) visited Sarah Rehab Hospital in Brasília and received briefing about its remarkable work. AOLA also donated wheelchairs to the hospital on that occasion. The Embassy of Nepal participated in the event.

Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development of Nepal, Dr. Madan Prasad Pariyar, held separate high-level bilateral meetings with key representatives of India, Turkey, Armenia, Bhutan and Kyrgyzstan - alongside the ministerial segment of COP30 in Belem, Brazil.

Met with Dr Madan Prasad Pariyar, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Nepal, on the sidelines of COP30 in Belem today. Our productive conversation involved areas to further cooperation. We also discussed matters related to COP30, biodiversity conservation, and integrated mountain development of the Greater Himalayan region.
