Question for AR users with "mil-spec" hammers: Which hammer do you have? POLL BELOW. Left is an as-cast hammer, right is an M-16 hammer with the auto sear catch milled off. Do you have an as-cast or a cut-M-16 hammer? You can tell by the smooth cut surface on the cut hammers.

@Tobias_Arms @GunFunZS You could also make the bar itself out of aluminum use steel for the sear portion

@GunFunZS @Nerfherder85 Adding mass to that sear bar is not a great idea, it's a push bar, so drop safety is an issue, and you may have to increase the trigger spring force to keep it safe. Of course, you could go to one disconnector hook, instead of 2 to keep it lighter.

anyone make an improved trigger system for the semi-auto MACs (velocity, MPA, etc...)? Something that gets rid of the violent trigger slap? The trigger was designed in the 1980s to make a closed bolt version to not be a machinegun and it was always a compromise. The hammer literally cams the trigger forward violently during the cycling of the action and is actually painful for some people to shoot. I see there used to be a special hammer with built in disconnector from MPA, but that is no longer available. Seems it did not last very long during use.
