The classic TV series Beauty and the Beast starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman. 🧵 Here are some interesting facts about it: Ron Perlman spent up to 4–5 hours daily getting the Beast makeup applied. The makeup was so intense that he could barely eat normally while filming. The show was created by Ron Koslow and became a cult classic because it mixed fantasy, romance, crime drama, and poetry in a very emotional way. Before becoming famous as Sarah Connor in The Terminator, Linda Hamilton gained huge recognition from this series. The Beast’s real name in the show is Vincent, unlike Disney’s version where the Beast doesn’t really have a fixed name. The series was inspired partly by the 1946 French film La Belle et la Bête. Many fans loved the chemistry between Catherine and Vincent so much that the show developed one of the earliest passionate TV fandoms before the internet era. The underground tunnel world beneath New York in the series was called “Father’s community,” led by the wise character Father. The show won multiple awards, especially for its makeup, costume design, and music. Ron Perlman has said Vincent became one of the most emotionally meaningful roles of his entire career. Even decades later, the series is still praised for its poetic dialogue and dark fairy-tale atmosphere, very different from modern fantasy shows.
