@Katyjstokes Scotland were at time fantastic. Of all the home nations they were the ones I was most pleased for.

@NetballComments Mavs, I wonder if none of the awful injuries of last 2yrs how they would have faired. Scotland yes although it would be interesting what she started to put in place, & if she hadn't of had to step down. But I'm delighted Scotland are doing so well considering everything!

@Katyjstokes I’m purely going by the fact she didn’t improve Scotland & despite getting rid of CB at Mavs they actually fared worse than the previous season. I believe you are correct btw, Dunn & Wasps 😊

@SadieR_Lawson @NetballComments I used to know her a v long time ago & she was lovely. Coaching wise, I'm a massive fan of her tactical nous but it has occurred to me she's never won anything (I don't think) without Rachel Dunn.

@YaThinkN @TheBroadbean Agree, but Scholes has a higher profile & that sways some people I think.

@TheBroadbean I've not watched all the NSL games this year, hence my interest after seeing all the calls for Scholes. Then seeing those stats from Emilie. From games I did see, would have thought people should have been calling for Liverseidge to get selected over Scholes, steadier vibe.

So if by stats, best WA would be "Joseph or Liverseidge" and from what I can gather Pearson being split between GA & WA means less WA stats per below, why were so many calling for Scholes to get a Roses gig? 🤔

@NetballComments The whole thing needs looking at such a narrow pathway even from youngsters at pre pdp level so only a certain amount of talent being spotted and developed we need a radical overhaul to future proof England netball

Lots of talk about how we need a coaching change. Yes - definitely. But even with that, I’m not sure we have a good enough 12 to compete with Aus / NZ even if we make some tweaks to current squad. We need more of the squad playing in SSN to compete realistically. #CWGnetball 🌹

@Katyjstokes @cazzrhughes @nickycross91 Well the unique problem we have is there are 4 home nations…..you don’t get that anywhere else. Surely we should have a domestic league that reflects that situation and where all 4 get the opportunities to develop 🤷🏻‍♂️

@NetballComments @cazzrhughes @nickycross91 I think it's catch 22. We need the imports to elevate the level of comp & viewers. Also then only the best players get contracts but I do see maybe we lose players because not given opportunities. If it wasn't for EN would other home nations have opportunities?

Also, why did we have to have x3 clubs in the Midlands? SW netball got stitched up. And the NE still hasnt had a club since Team Northumbria died. Pity there isn't a Saudi Princess who wants to create a Newcastle United Netball.

@NetballComments @Katyjstokes @nickycross91 I actually think old players not retiring is a bigger bottleneck than imports. I know that makes me agist but retirements and pregnancy were the main ways that spots opened up.

@cazzrhughes @Katyjstokes @nickycross91 No no no ! The more imports the more the Home Nations selection pool suffers and it’s already in a much worse state than it was 3-4 years ago. I seriously worry about young players getting their chance & therefore being lost to the sport.

@Katyjstokes @nickycross91 Just playing devils advocate here but what pressure would there be put on Roses players to stay here and make NSL big? Wasn’t that the idea behind it? I’m sure Nelson made a comment suggesting that.

@nickycross91 Currently no. Up and coming IF coached well, yes. A whole squad? Unsure. Players declining SSN contracts? For me, shows that it's not their priority & at elite level it 💯 should be. If you want to be the best you so anything it takes?! Kind of why elite athletes are a bit tapped

@Louise_Mc90 If there isn’t going to be a complete reshuffle from top down, then we need an international coach who isn’t going to be afraid to ruffle some EN feathers and undo the cr@p of the last 8 years

You see the reaction of Fran, right there, well EN this is on you!!! Get these players a decent Head Coach and set up around them. 7 years of gaslighting and b/s, they deserve so much more. Every single one of them ! ❤️

@Yatesy72 Well throwing the bibs up in the air has been the norm for the past 7 years. Ironically on one occasion we didn’t we beat South Africa to reach the semis - who knew? 🤷🏻‍♂️

@NetballComments What came out load and clear to me is we didn’t know our strongest 7. SA, NZ and AUS do and stick with them for as long as possible in every game. Whereas for us it was like picking names out of hat.

To the Roses players - thankyou for giving everything you had out there for the past week or so. You are a credit to yourselves, your families & everyone who coached you to get where you are. I hope next time you receive the full support you deserve ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
