@CornellGunter_ As someone who plays GM mode specifically. I have put 500+ hours into the game mostly via 3-4 (human) player GM mode. ~200 of those hours in Season 2. I'm not moving on the track at all. Big flaw in the way XP is gained. I have to grind single player to move. Pretty disappointing

@raijinDrip The customized intros/outros in 11 were very cool!
Didn't care for so much gear, shaders, or how it was a grind to unlock them, though. Too much fluff. And I felt the shaders made for a rough aesthetic, while also taking away iconic character identity.

English

Mk9+mkx gameplay content mk11 (only for character likeness and animations intros how the character personality show in their gameplay(example of what I mean is Fujin was so fire to play and watch. So was kung Lao because of the way they animated those characters.(content wise, we need Armageddon character creator!, and shaolin monk style story mode if possible.let our own character be the “Cole young” of the game.
English

Different pros & cons. Regardless, both feel like missteps for the franchise. Multiverse, retcons, shallow bonus content fluff & grind...
9 & X are far superior IMO.
Whatever MK13 looks like, it should use 9+X as the gameplay blueprint, & MKD as the story & content blueprint.

Mk11 is better than mk1

@BruskPoet I didn't hate the buzz cut for Jade, but can't refute the idea that characters should more closely resemble the game as much as possible.
I think Kano not getting a cybernetic eye plate bothers me more tbh. He needed a new one anyway, yet they... just gave him a regular eye?

I was honestly incredibly surprised by how VERY accurate the Mortal Kombat 2 portrayed Jade as a character and her story. It was so incredibly accurate to the original games story. Definitely the best Jade we’ve gotten. I want to see more from her. A huge highlight of the movie.
It’s also not weird or a “chud thing” to say that there was absolutely no reason to have her be bald. Jade is known for her nice hairstyles (MKD default and alt) and we were told that there would be a “Good reason” to explain why she’s bald and that was never said in the movie. The MK2 movie as a whole went out of their way to improve on everything from the first and one of those aspects was character costumes. Pretty much everyone in MK2 compared to the first and the new characters looks a whole lot better and more accurate to the games so it really sticks out when one character blatantly doesn’t look like Jade.
Why is it Jade that has this different and all the other females of MK in the movie look like how they do in the games? There’s just not a good reason. For MK3 we all know it would be better that she had her hair than not.
I really really do like Jade in this movie, genuinely did her character way better than I expected and very accurate to her OG story. The actress is great. Where my critique is coming from is to express my view on how best to make this version of the character as great as she already is and even more.

One request: Next time, use the theme song IN the movie. Ideally, when the good guys are starting to dig deep and begin their comeback! That song is a hype & nostalgia injection, and it's too good just to be saved for the credits! @Todd_Garner

@JonAlba @WrestlePurists I usually don't make negative posts like this, but one of the things that bothers me is they usually do link the source via a reply to the original tweet, but seemingly intentionally wait until hours later or the next day, in order to act as a retweet. It's a bit annoying.

Matt Hardy speaks on the upcoming Dark Side of the Ring episode about Jeff Jarrett and TNA, he and Jeff Hardy did long form interviews for it:
“In speaking with Jeff Jarrett, had a great conversation with him a couple months ago, and he told me they were talking about doing this. They’re doing a Dark Side of the Ring, which is kind of a redemption story, which is very cool. And we were sold on it.
While we were out in Vegas, Jeff and I both did very long form interviews talking about everything from the very beginning. When we first met Jeff Jarrett, interacting with him, him and Owen [Hart] asking if they could put the tag team titles on us when we were wearing tights back in the day just for a few weeks to kind of build us and make us. Go into everything that Jeff Jarrett has been through, losing his friend Owen, losing his first wife, how his life has been. And even up to that with TNA, whenever we left, whenever we returned to WrestleMania 33, WWE, just the whole to-do.
It felt great to be a part of something that did feel like a redemption story because not only did we talk about how Jeff Jarrett came out the other end in a much better place and how he has gained everyone's respect from what he has done. We talked about the condition of TNA right now, how it is in a good place and it is actually thriving on AMC.”

@CabooseEK As someone who has not looked forward to it, I have seen enough positive feedback, I have been convinced to go see it in theaters. Just gotta find a babysitter. But it seems like a winner!

Went to see Mortal Kombat 2 again tonight, had just as much fun on second viewing! They really did address the pain points of the first film and rectified them in a satisfying way.
Gonna reiterate that the Kung Lao vs Liu Kang fight is genuinely spectacular 🔥 #MortalKombatMovie

@CabooseEK As someone who has been very hesitant to get excited for the film, because I really did not like the 1st... Just by the trailers alone I'd have a hard time believing it could possibly be worse. I may yet to be convinced that it's great, but they seem to be taking decent steps.
English

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but MK2 runs circles around the first movie and I’d find it very hard to believe that most people would think otherwise after seeing it.

Mortal Kombat II: I can’t help but admire how they tried to address everything wrong with the first one and ended up with something twice as bad.

Gameplay aside, really just don't want the same story or aesthetic we've been getting. No more multiverse stuff. No evil superheroes. No more gear grind. Ditch all the armor and over designed lines aesthetic. Bring on all the recognizable looks from the decades of comics.

If NRS did ever revisit a DC fighting game, I’d love to see a high powered 1v1 that doesn’t dedicate most the roster to mid to long range excellence. It could be sick. The problem is, that’s Injustice’s identity.

I love celebrating gaming milestones, but today is my birthday!
I wanted to thank everyone for their kindness and support. It’s fun to share gaming history and memories, and to hear the stories you share as well ❤️
It’s challenging to share everything I’d like to with the busy day job, but this truly is a fun outlet for me and I really appreciate you. I haven’t met all the goals I’ve set for the year but am happy I’ve started on a few! I’ve streamed weekly for the last two months. So far I’ve bested Zelda 1, the arcade versions of X-Men, TMNT, and Turtles in Time. I’m through Palace 4 on Zelda II (using original hardware in my retro corner!), and will resume Saturday afternoon in @Twitch (christina_rose_ ☺️). I also have some large video project that have required National Archive research! I can’t wait to share!
Also thank you to Hellion for this awesome Nerds dress! They were one of my favorite candies as a kid 😊
Again, thank you for your support, and I hope you all have a lovely day!

@MichelleNReed @MKMovie @Todd_Garner Personally, as a 30+ year Mortal Kombat fan, more than anything I want a well written movie that tells a story filled with heart and soul. Homages to the game, cool fight choreography, & Fatals are neat though. They're the sizzle. Sizzle is good. But I really want the steak.
English

#MortalKombat2 gives the fans exactly what they want! Successfully capturing the spirit of the games it’s filled with unrelenting action and fatalities galore that had the whole theater cheering. This film is undoubtedly a fun time at the movies! 🩸🔥
