@Jaystopher @eiswuff @hereforthezoo That section I linked and the overall page both cite more recent sources. Additionally, I also cited more recent research, with the DAEC report.
English

@NettleWolf @eiswuff @hereforthezoo Holy shit this is all types of incorrect. The evidence that animals experience positive reactions is from a study done in 1962. That's wayyyy too old. Anyone studying research knows that credibility decreases as time increases, I bet even Dr. Masters would agree with that.
English

I was about ready to agree with this statement :C
Yes, the law shouldn't be our only basis for morality as morality is set personally. However, any moral system that justifies the abuse of animals should be questioned and condemned. That's not okay
Tarro ζ@hereforthezoo
When people say "It's bad because it's illegal" it's in total ignorance to the fact that queer rights are a VERY recent thing. Unless the stance is that homosexual relationships were wrong until 2015, you have to accept that the law is never a good indicator of moral correctness.
English

@Jaystopher @eiswuff @hereforthezoo I sent a translation because I didn't think to assume you read Danish, and figured an English translation would more likely be easier for you to read.

English

@NettleWolf @eiswuff @hereforthezoo Posting an unofficial translation is not the winning motive you think it is and is a very academically dishonest thing to do. There is no proof that this is a sound translation of the ideas expressed in the Danish paper.
English

@Jaystopher @eiswuff @hereforthezoo Beyond that, the Danish Animal Ethics Council did a review of human-animal sexuality and found similar results, those being that, absent other abuse, animals respond positively to such relationships, with greater happiness and more emotional bonding.

@Jaystopher @eiswuff @hereforthezoo Hi there.
If you're looking for less anecdotal evidence, there's been some science that addresses the subject.
This page gives an overview of some of it:

@RaineYote @Fley_The_Dragon If you want to keep in touch, feel free to send me a message on telegram, or, I've got an account on Bluesky.
English

@RaineYote @Fley_The_Dragon No worries. The account isn't hidden or anything. Heck that's why I use the same profile picture!
I still check DMs and stuff on twitter, so I see notifications like this. No worries. I'm glad my comment brightened up some folks' days!
English

@Fley_The_Dragon @RaineYote Youtube, Shaun's most recent video, which is about the Palestine / Israel conflict.
English

@dog_lovin_poss That's not what was happening. What was happening was that any sort of interaction with Twitter was sending me to a page saying "your activity is suspicious, complete this antibot thingamabob!"
English

@InterestedKnot @AkitoTheZoo My problem with Mastadon is... I'm on twitter because of the discoverability and public visibility it offers. That I've been able to help so many zoos, people who are questioning, and honest people with questions.
Mastodon, as I understand it, loses all of that.
English

@animalboysister @RoxanaTheWolf @KoolKanine That's awesome! Seriously, the power of exposure and outreach can't be understated.
English

@hereforthezoo I had my first lewd dream about a dog when I was eight, but I think I actually had the realization that I was attracted to animals at around 10-11?
English

@RRyder420 @hereforthezoo @ZooeyDotPub Where's Perdita?
I'd ask about the unnamed coyote from Far From The Tree but she's too D list by most standards to make any sort of ranking, even if she's probably my personal favorite.
I just might be biased there though. Just maybe.
English

Missing out on a @ZooeyDotPub article for this week? Don't worry, Polygon's got you covered!

English

@animalboysister I think the best part is that people are actually falling for this. I thought at first, "no way, they'll realize the joke" but I should have known better than to have any nonzero expectations at all.
