This Sunday, Lament.Sing.Arise by @JamesLeeIII1 will receive its Philadelphia premiere! It was commissioned by the @librarycongress in 2020 and depicts the transformation from sorrow to joy made acute by the pandemic. 3pm @SettlementMusic Info & tix in bio!

This Sunday we present our Season Finale - Piano & Percussion! In addition to a bunch of premieres, we're very excited to have Guest Artist Dynasty Battles joining the Network roster to present Ted Hearne's Study Budy! Read about their collaboration at the link in our bio!

Today's the day! Not too late to come to The Farm at @awburyarboretum for our performance of Brent Michael Davids's "Touching Leaves Woman" and Eve Beglarian's "A Murmur in the Trees!" Take a moment to reflect on this gorgeous rock we call home! Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Info in bio

Then, at this time tomorrow we will be performing Eve Beglarian's "A Murmur in the Trees" for 24 bassists in the woods! Inspired by Birch Bark and written with the legendary bassist Robert Black, meander through The Farm at @awburyarboretum Be there! 2pm - all are welcome!

This time TOMORROW we premiere Brent Michael Davids's handwritten "Touching Leaves Woman" for voices and bird roars. This work honors Nora Thompson Dean (1907-1984), a Lenape teacher and herbalist who dedicated her life to preserving Lenape culture. Event/Program info in bio!

2 DAYS TO GO! American Holly’s evergreen leaves are dull to olive green with 1-8 sharp spines per side. Don't touch those leaves, but do be inspired by the amazing memory of leaf touching with Brent Michael Davids's new piece "Touching Leaves Woman." 2pm @awburyarboretum

3.DAYS.LEFT!!! American Elm Trees are large, stately, and symmetrical. Sadly, they have been over-forested and are missing from most of our landscapes! This music celebrates what nature provides and mourns what we have lost and destroyed. Listen & Share with us Saturday at 2.

5 DAYS TO GO!!! The European Beech has smaller leaves than the American Beech and has a darker gray bark. The lower branches can form their own roots and create new tree clusters! There are so many beautiful trees at the @awburyarboretum - and some wonderful goats! 4/22 2pm!

6 Days to go! American Beech Tree has light bluish gray bark and is known for sending up sucker trees from their roots forming colonies of "sister" trees. Join friends and neighbors and listen to bassists and singers form ephemeral colonies of sound. 4/22 2pm @awburyarboretum

ONE WEEK TO GO! Golden Rain Tree displays panicle clusters of bright yellow flowers in the summer, and their long dark green leaves divide into ~15 irregular leaflets. Gorgeous trees and gorgeous music. ONE WEEK FROM TODAY AT 2PM. @awburyarboretum Tix thru our bio.

Day 17 - Sweet Birch has cherry-like horizontally striped bark with a light reddish brown color. When the twigs are bruised or broken, they smell like birch beer! Don't break the twigs, but do join us as there will be food/drink vendors there! April 22 - 2pm @awburyarboretum

Day 16 (belated) - Dawn Redwood, very similar to the Bald Cypress, is native to China and can be distinguished by the deep grooves that form under each branch. Join us on April 22 @awburyarboretum for some deep musical grooves by Eve Beglarian and Brent Michael Davids!

We interrupt Tree content for people content: May 7 is our last concert of the season! At Settlement Music School, this concert will have guest artist Dynasty Battles, a new commission by Vivian Fung, and a premiere of Richard Wernick's cello suite! 3pm. Tickets thru our bio!

Day 15 - Bald Cypress (Evan's favorite tree at the @awburyarboretum) is deciduous, and every spring bright green needle clusters burst back out of the branches, where they remain softly drooping for the season. Come see these special trees and hear this special music! 4/22 2pm!

Day 13 - The River Birch at the @awburyarboretum is one of the finest specimens in the commonwealth! Come see it, hear us, and celebrate the Earth in all of its magical, quiet, and ancient glory! Music for basses in the woods. Music for singers, birds, & leaves. 4/22 2pm

Day 12 (Holiday belated) - Black Walnut! We're more than halfway through the forest of time on our way to the concert! April 22, 2pm, at the @awburyarboretum Get tickets at our website, where you'll also find additional details about the concert! These trees can attack!
