I'm gonna put this as simply as I can. If governments were an efficient problem solving machine..they would have already erased their need to exist. If you give your problems to them to solve, they'll exist eternally. The only things the government wants is money and problems.

@MeltingSnowBro Yeah but they dont have a personal god religion in our sense, just a vague and nebulous 'greater being'

I'm thinking of how many wars were caused over vaguely inbred royalty being unable to produce heirs. The last line.

In 2020, a Stockholm University lab mixed sperm and egg fluid from 16 couples in a dish. Some men's sperm got pulled toward the fluid much harder than others. And in half the cases, the egg picked a stranger's sperm over the partner's. The egg releases a chemical bait. Sperm carry tiny smell sensors on their heads that pick up that bait. When the smell matches, the sperm speeds up and swims straight at the egg. When it doesn't, the sperm slows down or loses its line. The lead researcher, John Fitzpatrick, called it a chemical breadcrumb trail. The sperm race is mostly a myth. A man releases around 100 million sperm at a time. Only about 250 ever reach the egg. The rest die along the way. The vagina is acidic and kills most of them. The cervix makes thick mucus that traps them like flypaper. The womb's immune system attacks them as foreign invaders. And half of the survivors pick the wrong fallopian tube, because only one of the two tubes has the egg in it. By the time anyone even gets close, the race is already over. Then the egg picks. The egg is selecting for immune-system genes. The more different the father's immune genes are from the mother's, the wider the range of diseases their child can fight off later. So the egg favors sperm that bring more genetic diversity. Fitzpatrick thinks this could explain some of the 30% of infertility cases doctors label "unexplained." For some couples, their bodies just don't chemically match, even when everything else does. Out of 100 million sperm, your father's chemistry was the one the egg agreed to let in. Which means all of us are, in some way, the quiet outcome of a chemistry test no one studied for.

@GrandZeroGaming You just need to grow them zero. Taste 100000000% better than store bought water mush. Our hedge gave us 13 jars worth. Some went to salsa and some to homemade spaghetti saus

@7deok7 @YaPalNaz Your denomination? Out of curiosity, I haven't heard that death interpretation before.

@YaPalNaz 1. Nobody is going to heaven, the Bible never talks about anything like that. Our hope is eternal life on Earth, not heaven. 2. Again, because God told us to do so. Prayer also doesn't help us to inherit eternal life, but we pray because God told us to do that.

About a year ago I saw the name "Church of Christ" for the first time and I remember thinking "Wow, that sounds heretical for some reason". Turns out, I was right XD

@aureo9850 @orchidcide I dont hallucinate anything visually but I can map a machine by its parts and their intended motion/effect to find problems I'm seeing, where it would start and why its creating that issue. Just work in a factory.

@orchidcide This apple thing is just an issue of honesty and misunderstanding. Nobody actively hallucinates an apple when they close their eyes. What is seeing in the mind space where literally speaking eyes can't see? imagination. The rest is an error of phrasing.

boomers don’t understand the concept of loving their neighbor as themselves because they have a warped view of love. they think self-love is pulling yourself up by your bootstraps and getting as many material possessions as possible. it’s why they fall so hard for the prosperity gospel as well. for example, they balk at my generation doing different things to love ourselves, like taking mental health days off from work or “spending all our money on avocado toast”. they see a detachment from the material as weak. anything that differs from THEIR established norm and standard is backwards and an indicator of degeneracy to them. by virtue of growing up in the 50s and 60s, many boomers didn’t experience the same hardships and lack that their parents and grandparents did. they lived during some of the most prosperous times in america but due to their own greed they have stripped every institution that helped them along the way and transformed this country into something entirely unrecognizable from the times they came of age in. boomers don’t understand caring for the poor, because to them, poor people are lazy and weren’t willing to work hard enough to get to the same place that they did.

@k1tty_bug I mean gnostic in the terms of a scientific/atheist impersonal 'everything' and 'oneness', lower case g God. They don't necessarily believe in a personal god that cares, only that in some abstract way everything is connected and calling the connection god.

@Neuroactive51 I’m going through Catholic conversion and I believe this with all my heart. It’s a concept that atheists have a hard time with. An omnipresent being could be anything, God didn’t tell us what he is; just to have faith, he didn’t say we’re not allowed to speculate or dream.
