Yesterday was a most exciting day for the Centre for Neurotechnology, because we celebrated the launch of our centre with a workshop jam packed with exciting talks and posters. Thanks to everyone who attended! Below is a thread of the individual talks:

We also want to congratulate our two poster prize winners @MirVDP and Maria Cerezo Sanchez for winning the best poster award. Well done Mircea and Maria!

@CSampaioBaptist presented her fascinating research on using neurofeedback for triggering neural plasticity and stroke rehabilitation, and [twitter handle for jesse dawson] closed the workshop with an impressive talk on vagus nerve stimulation and stroke rehabilitation.

Keith Mathison from Strathclyde University presented his mind-blowing visual prosthesis for the retina, which stimulates the eye and powers itself via light.

Emma Gordon from @COGITO_Glasgow presented her research on Neurotechnology and authenticity, anticipating important ethical issues that Neurotechnology raises in the coming years.

@JacquesCarolan talked about his new programme at @ARIA_research funding Neurotechnology that will make things possible that we now deem impossible.

Our own Gang Li showed how we can use transcranial electric stimulation combined with EEG to treat motion sickness induced by VR. @gemma_learmonth discussed about the importance of well-designed control conditions for neuro stimulation, open science and registered reports.

@nir_grossman presented his truly mind-blowing research using temporal interference tACS to stimulation deep brain regions, like the hippocampus to modulate memory and possibly treat Alzheimer's Dementia.

@hadihei presented his magnetic sensors, which are based on semi-conductors to measure EMG and could pave the way for next generation non-cryogenic non-OPM MEG.

@EFouragnan kicked us off with a dazzling whirl-wind tour through her fascinating research on focused ultra-sound stimulation. Our own @d_faccio presented his vision for using light and quantum mechanics for next-generation real-world BCIs.
