A video allegedly showing a minor girl visiting her boyfriend inside Raipur Central Jail has gone viral, raising concerns over prison security. In the clip, the girl says she has come to meet her partner on his birthday and records a reel from the jail’s meeting room. Mobile phones are prohibited inside prison premises, prompting questions over visitor screening and frisking procedures. The inmate has been identified as Tarkeshwar, who is lodged under the NDPS Act. Jail authorities said they are examining when the video was recorded and have ordered an inquiry into the incident.

I am from Bodoland (BTR) In Bodoland, the BJP cannot win elections on its own. It needs to team up with either the BPF or the UPPL to have a chance. Even then, partnering with the BPF gives them a lower chance of winning because the UPPL is a stronger party and more likely to win.

Not many outside Assam know about Bodoland politics, largely because it's a remote border region that rarely gets mainstream media attention. So, a quick background. For decades, Bodoland was marked by insurgency and separatism. It was only through sustained efforts by the Modi govt and pro-India Bodo leaders like @PramodBoroBTR that the region found peace and stability. Promod Boro's party, UPPL, is a BJP ally, in the NDA, in the Assam legislative assembly, and in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). This alliance brought political stability, development, and peace to the region. But now, a few within the local BJP unit in Bodoland have grown overly ambitious and are pushing to contest the upcoming BTC elections independently, despite the ongoing alliance in three platforms. The central leadership may have accepted this based on local feedback. However, viewed objectively, this move is shortsighted. Breaking an alliance without clear justification, purely due to local overreach, risks undoing the hard-won peace and trust, especially when the Northeast is already grappling with instability in places like Manipur. I urge the PM @narendramodi, @AmitShah, and @JPNadda to review this more closely. BJP has always respected alliances, even when it has the numbers, which is why its allies stood by it in 2024 when the reverse was true. That same respect should now be extended to UPPL.
