I understand your position, and I say this as a Black American. My perspective is simply different. Not every visit to the White House is an endorsement of the individual occupying the office. Sometimes it is an acknowledgment of the institution itself and a tradition that extends beyond any single administration. The presidency is temporary; the office and its historical significance endure. Reasonable people can certainly object to a president's policies or rhetoric, but it is also reasonable to distinguish between honoring a longstanding civic tradition and expressing political allegiance. Conflating the two overlooks an important distinction. People are free to disagree with the decision, but reducing everyone who sees that distinction to being "ignorant" or a "kool-aid drinker" dismisses legitimate nuance rather than engaging with it.
