A Bengaluru startup called Pronto has been everywhere in the news lately. They raised roughly $100M in funding with a bold promise: “House help in 10 minutes.” On the surface, the idea is simple. Open an app → request household help → a nearby worker shows up almost instantly for tasks like cleaning or basic chores. Think of it as applying the Uber-style marketplace model to domestic work. But what caught my attention isn’t the idea itself. It’s the strategy behind it. Because this startup isn’t just building a convenience app. It’s challenging how the entire home-services industry currently operates. Most established platforms today optimize for two things: • Quality – trained professionals • Reliability – scheduled, predictable services Pronto is trying to add a third dimension to the equation: Speed. And that’s where the real strategic tension lies. In services that happen inside someone’s home, consumers ultimately value trust and consistency far more than urgency. You might need a quick replacement once in a while. But long term, what people really want is someone reliable and trustworthy who does the job well every time. Which means Pronto is entering a market where the real competition is a balance between: speed, quality, and trust. And unlike incumbents, they need to build all three at the same time. Established players already have a trained workforce, brand credibility, and operational systems in place. If they decide to move into the “instant service” space, they mostly need to solve one problem: speed. Pronto, on the other hand, must solve: • workforce reliability • trust and background verification • service quality • logistics speed • and eventually profitability all simultaneously. That’s an extremely difficult scaling challenge. We’ve seen similar excitement cycles before. Companies like Zepto captured attention by promising ultra-fast delivery. But over time the market forced them to rebalance speed with quality control and operational discipline. Home services raise the stakes even further because workers are entering private homes. Trust becomes non-negotiable. So the real question isn’t whether Pronto’s idea is interesting. The real question is how long they can execute before incumbents respond. Established platforms have the luxury of patience. They can watch this model evolve, observe where it struggles, and later integrate instant services using their existing workforce and trust advantage. But zooming out, something much bigger may be happening here. Startups like Pronto are essentially experimenting with the digitization of domestic labour itself. If someone manages to organize that fragmented workforce into a scalable marketplace, the opportunity expands far beyond cleaning. Cooking. Childcare. Elder care. Repairs. Household management. In that world, the real prize isn’t sending a maid in 10 minutes. It’s becoming the platform layer for the entire household services economy. Whether Pronto becomes the company that pulls it off or simply the experiment that pushes the industry forward is still uncertain. But one thing is clear. Speed may grab headlines. Trust is what ultimately builds the market in the long run.

Calling a movie propoganda -can a movie be made without a narrative ? Then it will be documentary isn't it ? with all the facts. In today's world of information can we change opinions by movie, talk to anyone, everyone thinks what they know is best and will stand by it. Very few who are in search of finding themselves constantly questions everything and defends nothing but I don't think you can convince anyone in today's world to buy a narrative. Your own level of consciousness decides the movies you watch, music you listen, books you read and then you form an opinion.

@akshaykumar Anything beyond two sequels is pointless. We have seen this time and again with all-time great movies. It’s like selling the same dish again and again with more ingredients, hoping this one might be the big hit!

Investing isn’t about chasing quick returns. If you treat it like a way to make quick money, you often end up losing more. Think of it differently. Investing is simply parking your money where it can work over time. You’re giving your savings a full-time job. That’s why investing isn’t gambling. It’s a structured way to make better use of the money you’ve already earned. Patience and Compounding do most of the work.

I do nothing most days. On purpose. I sit in my office. I read history. I ask 'why' ten times for things I don't understand. I dig into the reasons within reasons. I make one good decision a month. That's it. That's the whole job. You built an app. All-nighters. Claude Code. Cursor. A hundred commits a week. Claude and OpenAI ate your lunch 60 days later. You wrote 1,000 SEO articles to rank on Google. They changed the algo because it's buried in AI slop. Five side gigs. Uber. Lyft. Everything you had. A war started. Gas prices ate every dollar. Move faster, they said. Nobody said where. If you've been sitting still and feeling guilty about it - don't. The world doesn't need you to move faster. It needs you to know where you're going.

Every person goes through a situation that could have buried them. Still, you took that risk, and it paid off. When survival is at stake, you don’t ask what is right or wrong. The important question is what is necessary in that moment.

@hvgoenka How do you make up for the time and capital lost with this solution? It will take at least 2–3× (if not more) the capex, labour, and time to execute. Having patience and waiting out the problem would be much cheaper and reliable than your current strategy.

🚨 “If your recharge runs out, it makes sense for outgoing calls to be blocked, but blocking incoming calls is arbitrary. As soon as the recharge expires, neither can anyone contact you, nor can essential messages like OTPs reach your phone. In emergency situations, the person becomes helpless” - MP Raghav Chadda.

Interviewed a backend developer. Guy was at 21 LPA. We offered 28 LPA, roughly a 33 percent hike. He agreed and confirmed joining. Yesterday he emailed saying he got a 32 LPA offer elsewhere and now wants 36 LPA from us. Nonsense. Why agree in the first place. If you are still shopping offers just say it upfront. We stopped interviewing other candidates and waited through the notice period for the joining date. Now two days before joining, he came back with a new price tag.

It’s not just about captain. Team wins you tournaments, and a little bit of luck is what makes the actual difference. The only problem was lack of synchronicity between team, and captain in limited overs. If you look at the past, you can clearly see Kohli dragging the team through ICC events almost single handedly multiple times. On the other hand if you see India as a team was perfectly synchronized and bullish in Tests under same captain Kohli like no one ever could. India dominated Australia in their own backyard like a piece of cake, we still aren’t able to replicate that despite so many changes. That was the class of Kohli as captain. So the problem was wrong expectations from wrong person, just because India was bullish on having same Captain in all 3 formats. It just doesn’t help, because no one is perfect at everything. You need to manage the expectations a bit better.
