It’s a myth that the empty nesting blues happen only when kids leave for college. They develop at later milestones, too. Today’s was moving 22 to NYC and into his first apartment. Interestingly, I’ve found profound joy in the role reversal between parent and child. As we walked to dinner I wandered along behind the boys not a care in the world. They know the city 24 lives there too); they selected the restaurant; they led the charge. Gone are the days of holding little hands in strange cities, trying to navigate maps while minding two littles. Gone is the stress and worry of children, replaced with the pride in adults well formed. They are men in their own right. Accomplished, brilliant and kind. The children are there but exist now only in my heart. 💕

Everyone weighing in with their take on the new Seahawks owners. Here's the correct take: Nobody knows shit. They've never been majority owners of a major professional sports team. We have absolutely no idea how much or how little they'll meddle. We have no idea how they'll run this thing. Do what everyone else will do and sit back and observe. Let them show us what they are or aren't.
