Another example of US isolated thought: "there are alternatives to SPY-6!" Sure, unless you actually bother looking. The number of areas that Europe depends on 🇺🇸 in defence is really small, and most were choices through laziness. But would 🇩🇪 ever buy 🇫🇷 or 🇮🇹 naval C2?

@NewGreenPlanet @FTusa284 3. Spy6v1 was chosen for a good reason and is the better pick than the Spy7. As I've already told you: Every AAW effector requires an AEGIS Integration. If you manage to Integrate the missile into AEGIS and the Mark 41 VLS, you'll manage to achieve compatibility with the spy6v1

@Leopard24theWin @FTusa284 Do you know that the SF500 is made of ? MODULAR panels, that panels can be added? So if that's your only aspect point, it's quite a simple fix. The SF500 corresponds to the French requests. That's it. And the SF500 has a much better software-defined system.

The AEGIS system selected by Germany is the LM CMS-330, a Canadian system which is ITAR Free, and Germany has the licence on it, so no, the AEGIS is not the problem. @FTusa284 There is simply no technological equivalent to a SPY6v1/SPY7v1. You might argue that the capabilities provided by these radars arent needed (which is IMO an ill-advised take) but you can't argue that there's an european equivalent solution. There's simply none.

The German Army already had digital radios in Afghanistan. And you act like this info that you share negates their existence.

@MunichMk @Theothue @KrahMax The encryption is NOT a problem. The main problem is the transmission time. These are software issues that will be solved. The hardware is not the problem.

@MunichMk @Theothue @KrahMax 200 vehicles type to be equipped. And when that happens, there is a design phase for each, and approval from the standards, and potentially approval required for safety aspects. So yes, it takes time.

Die Software vom Digitalfunk (Basisstationen, Motorola) hat nicht funktioniert, Milliarden wurden versenkt, das Ende war Unternehmen geschlossen, hunderte Arbeitsplätze in EU verloren, kein digitales Funksystem (vor 25 Jahren).
