We are incredibly proud of Jiyzaye for finding a way to bring joy and fulfillment to his day while successfully managing his academic responsibilities.

What truly captivated us was the time Jiyzaye dedicated to explaining the ideas behind his artwork to his peers. His passion and pride in his work were evident in every word he spoke.

Last week, we had the pleasure of connecting with our 9th grader, Jiyzaye Vazquez, in the hallway. He was proudly showing his classmates his latest drawing, which he had created in his drawing notebook.

“We truly believe that all students can be prepared for and attend college,” said Omari Walker, who cofounded New Heights in 2016, along with Janice Manning and Jessica Geier, and currently serves as the school’s executive director.

She wrote, “Once again, our teachers and staff showed up for our community. When I arrived on Friday, tables were already set and nearly 100 bags were already assembled in preparation for our Saturday distribution.”

As the recent surge in gas prices puts an extra strain on household budgets, New Heights stepped up to support our community’s needs. The School’s Principal, Dr. Nichole Jones, showed her appreciation to her team and their commitment to serve others.

New Heights Charter School of Brockton held its third food staple distribution of the academic year this past Saturday, providing over 200 bags of food staples to New Heights families and members of Brockton and surrounding communities.

Early College students Jaelah Farris (class’26) and Mohann Yago (class’27) from New Heights joined hundreds of other Early College students at the Massachusetts State House. They advocated for critical resources to support Early College programs throughout the Commonwealth.
