🚨 SCAM ALERT – IMPERSONATING LAW ENFORCEMENT 🚨
We have received reports of an individual calling citizens and falsely posing as a law enforcement officer. The caller claims the recipient has outstanding warrants for missing federal court and demands immediate payment—sometimes up to $7,000 or more.
They may also request that you complete a so-called “signature analysis.”
⚠️ This is a scam.
Law enforcement agencies will never:
• Call you to demand payment for a warrant
• Request money over the phone or through gift cards, wire transfers, or apps
• Ask you to complete a “signature analysis” to avoid arrest
💡 What to do if you receive a call like this:
• Hang up immediately
• Do not provide personal or financial information
• Do not send money
• Report the incident to your local law enforcement agency
If you’re unsure whether a call is legitimate, contact your local sheriff’s office directly using a trusted phone number.
