This year, with your support, we made sure newly-arrived refugee families had a consistent, dignified source of kids hand-me-down clothes through ongoing family-to-family partnerships. We're excited to continue this important work in 2026 with all of you!

In the last week, our volunteers delivered $6,300 of groceries to 37 families, & another 70 grocery deliveries are planned for next week to cover 107 total families. THANK YOU to this community for showing up for our new neighbors who are missing their SNAP benefits this month.

For World Refugee Day, we held our annual ✨Welcome Party✨ -- we invited newcomer families in our program for an afternoon of fun activities & community connections. "You made me feel welcome here," said a father from Haiti. "I don't know how to thank you."

We were honored to partner with Columbia Business School for their Day of Service last week, inviting faculty and staff to create "Welcome Home" kits for newly-arrived refugee families who are living in shelters or just moved into permanent housing 🏠✨

Each year, our #WorldRefugeeDay Welcome Party features snacks prepared by our new neighbors from around the world—like these Plushka cinnamon rolls from Ukraine, which were a big hit last year. We're happy to announce that we've received a grant from the Yip Harburg Foundation. Known as "Broadway's social conscious," he wrote the lyrics for 600+ songs, including all Wizard of Oz lyrics. We're honored that our mission to promote social justice honors Yip's legacy.

That's a wrap on our Marhaban Ramadan program for 2025! Volunteers shared 94 holiday care packages (with a total of $7,440 worth of supplies!) that benefited 202 newcomers from Burkina Faso, Syria, Afghanistan, and elsewhere!

Each Ramadan care package—personalized with familiar foods & thoughtful touches—is a reminder for our new neighbors that they are valued & welcomed, bringing comfort to families celebrating far from home. Thank you to our volunteers for putting so much care into every detail!🌙✨

Our Marhaban Ramadan program is in full swing! We're engaging volunteers in the community to create nearly 100 care packages for refugee families from Syria, Afghanistan, Guinea, and elsewhere who may be missing family or struggling to afford holiday supplies.
