@NewProgressUSA @eleanordotcomm @WUreview it can not just be UBI - you must incorporate basic NEEDS as well, or the income will just get slurped up by housing & utility cos. Universal Basic Income (spending money) plus Universal Basic Services (housing, utilities, transportation, food) - becomes Universal Basic Needs.

Poverty is expensive in a way that people don’t understand. If you can’t afford a dentist you have long term teeth damage. Not affording healthy food means poor health. Not affording ‘good schools’ means missed opportunities. It is a compounding cycle.
