@traysartech Clearly showing the importance of subterra warfare, traditional munitions weren't designed to penetrate that deep. Keep up the important work @traysartech

Over a year ago, the United States deployed a B-2 stealth bomber with specialized ordnance to strike several nuclear enrichment facilities in Iran. The above-ground facilities were destroyed, while the underground facilities were badly damaged.
Now, a third tunnel facility underneath Pickaxe Mountain has been discovered just over a mile from the Natanz nuclear complex. The construction of this facility began in 2020, during which Iranian officials stated they were building “a more modern, larger and more comprehensive hall” for making advanced centrifuges.
Based on publicly available data, the GBU-57A/B MOP bomb that was used on Fordo and Natanz has a maximum penetration depth of ~200 feet. Within the limestone peaks of the Zagros Mountains, the penetration depth can be as little as 25 feet.
The facility underneath Pickaxe Mountain is estimated to be ~100m (328 feet) underground.

We have said it plainly a few times: the next arsenal of democracy gets built by the teams who treat manufacturing as the product.
This week the Pentagon said it back, its next APFIT round will prioritize technology "that can be made cheaply at scale."
Not the flashiest demo. Not the most exquisite platform. The thing you can actually build, in volume, on time, at a price that fills a deep magazine.
That's deterrence: a magazine deep enough no one dares test it. It's what we back across air, land, sea, and space. If you're building it, our DMs are open.

The Pentagon recently opened a competition for reusable bomber drones, 1,200 units to start, capped at ~$20K each, inside a program to field 300,000+ by 2027. The structure of it is the key: the military is buying drones the way it once bought rifle rounds. Quantity is back as a design requirement. Production is the product.

Orbit is being bought in tranches of 36 now, not one exquisite satellite at a time. @SemperCitiusSDA just put $1.75B behind 36 missile-tracking satellites for Golden Dome, built to launch by 2028. Proliferated, attritable, replaceable. The manufacturing math that's remaking munitions is remaking the high ground space is infrastructure to defend, and infrastructure gets built in volume. Reach out if you are building in this space.

About ~10,000 new companies entered the defense market in the last few years. Nontraditional players took around $122.6B in contract obligations last year alone. The door the primes guarded for 40 years is open. If you're building the hard, critical layer of the arsenal, energetics, castings, interceptors, the unglamorous industrial base, we want to be your first call. DMs open.

Magazine depth isn't only new factories. It's robotics + software pulling more out of the metal-parts lines we already have a startup's autonomy stack inside a prime's munitions line, aimed at the exact bottleneck the Army just flagged. Proud to back @dkrajendra and the Deterrence team. Production is the product.

New @MilitaryTimes reporting this week on why U.S. 155mm shell production keeps missing targets. The bottleneck isn't the explosive fill or final assembly it's forging and machining enough projectile metal bodies.

Proliferated, cheaper, more numerous, harder to kill. The architecture is right even when the rollout is bumpy — and that's the layer we back: teams building for space as contested high ground, not a benign place to park a payload.

Today the @SemperCitiusSDA , Space Development Agency, is back in the launch business, 21 Transport Layer satellites to orbit after a 9-month pause to fix bugs on the first batch. The pause is a footnote. This shift is the story, the U.S. is rebuilding space power around many cheap satellites, not a few exquisite ones. 🧵

The investable layer isn't the mine. It's the processing, separation, substitution, and recycling that actually breaks the dependency, the unglamorous middle nobody wants to fund. That's exactly where we're looking. Deterrence runs on rare earths. 👉

New @CSIS report on the defense industrial base has one number worth sitting with: U.S. rare-earth production went from 95 tons in 2022 to 8,900 tons in 2025. That is real progress, and a reminder of how far we have let it fall. Here's why a venture fund cares about magnets. 🧵
