What's your favourite small hotel or inn in Ireland? I'm talking a small number of rooms, good food, friendly staff and generally chilled energy. I mean remote, hidden away, not overly touristed. An escape.

@sophiegrenham @NewforgeHouse I was there on an evening when they had a very sociable gathering in their fairly small dining room, and the staff went out of their way to make me and another couple who weren’t part of the gathering feel well looked after and comfortable in every way.

@sophiegrenham Over the border, and in a village rather than completely secluded, but Newforge House @NewforgeHouse offered me as a solo traveller fab food, v comfortable stylish room and absolutely outstanding customer service a few years ago newforgehouse.com
