Yesterday we marked the 82nd anniversary of the Dieppe Raid at a wreath-laying service in Newhaven. More than 1,000 soldiers tragically lost their lives in the raid in August 1942, with Newhaven serving as one of the main departure points for the operation.

[2/2] We’re making further improvements to accessibility across the Fort, including: ➡️A second disabled toilet and a new family toilet ➡️A new ramped area outside our gift shop ➡️Increased accessibility in several exhibitions ➡️Accessible playground equipment.

[1/2] Exciting news! We’re delighted to be introducing two new mobility scooters to improve accessibility. Visitors will be able to use these scooters for free to explore the Fort when we reopen next year. But that’s not all … 🧵
