Rosen admits that there are still a lot of challenges such as high cost of living, affordable housing, affordable childcare, etc. and that "it's not gonna be easy. But Nevada is the Battle Born state for a reason."

Rosen starts off stating that Latino voters are "decisive in Nevada elections," which got a big applause from the audience. Hispanics make up about 30% of the state population and about 20% of the electorate.

“What our university has endured on December 6 is nothing short of life changing. We will not ever forget that day. I know in my heart that UNLV is strong and UNLV is resilient,” Whitfield said.

Whitfield said that the university is moving forward with winter commencement that is scheduled for Dec. 19 and 20. He said the decision was difficult but that the university should “continue on and be able to celebrate our graduates, academic dreams fulfilled.”

Advocates are also pushing for more bilingual election workers to help voters who may prefer another language.

The assemblywoman mentioned AB246 which aimed to expand the languages available in election materials but it was vetoed by Gov. Joe Lombardo

Horsford and Becerra were asked if the new law allowing Medicare to directly negotiate the prices of covered prescription drugs will actually change anything because they are limited the number of medicines they can negotiate.

Street vendor Nayeli said that the measure “brings peace of mind to families” and that it brings street food vendors like her out of the shadows. “We still have a lot of work ahead of us to advocate for the issues that affect us. But this celebration shows us that yes we can.”
