National FFA week is approaching so check out what we got in store for this week of fun. This year we will be selling porkburgers to the public as well as the students. Reminder to drive a tractor to school on Thursday you are required to get a permission slip signed by a parent.

Congratulations to the Newton FFA dodgeball team for placing first at the section contest.

We would like to give a big congratulations to the Newton FFA livestock judging team for placing 5th in the Nation at the American Royal Livestock Show. Also a huge congratulations to Jace Judson for placing fifth individually in the nation.

Yesterday the Newton FFA delivered drinks, snacks and hats to local farmers for Farmer Appreciation. We would like to thank the farmers for their continued support for our organization and also Dave Jansen, with Country Financial, for supplying all the soda, snacks, and hats.

Congrats to the Newton FFA team land use for placing first at the section contest. Congrats to Peyton Willenborg for placing 2 overall, Alex Gier for placing 3, and Matthew Haskett for placing 7.

The Newton and Dietrich FFA’s donated blankets to the Jasper County Health Department after a small fire burned the blankets for cancer patients. We would like to thank the Health Department for the continued support and to all those who helped make them.

Congratulations to the Newton FFA horse judging team for placing first at the section contest. Also congratulations to Kylie Higgs for placing 2nd overall, Paytyn Probst 6th, and Paige Zumbalhen 7th.

The Newton Ag Business classes attended the FS plot tour Wednesday. We would like to thank Wabash Valley FS for allowing us to attend and teach us a little bit more about their company.

We ask that anyone attending the farm progress show this week go to booth #1133 and check in for Newton FFA. Growmark is awarding the school with the most sign-ins with a $1000.

We would like to give a big thanks to Bayer for awarding the 2023 Newton FFA with a $5,000 donation. We would also like to thank Dion and Debbie Urfer for nominating us for the donation.

The Newton FFA helped cook breakfast for Allicance Tarctors 20th Anniversary in Newton. Thanks for all those who helped and thanks to Alliance for allowing us to give back to the community.

The Newton FFA hosted the section 20 livestock show Saturday. Congratulations to all those who placed and thanks to all those who help run and set up the show.

Congratulations to the Ag Business team which placed first, and to the Horticulture team which placed third at the section contest. Also congratulations to Tyler Olmstead for placing 1st in Ag Business, Luke Weber 3rd, Sara Burtis 4th, Aleah Higgs 5th, and Brock Probst 6th.

Congratulations to livestock judging team for placing first at state. Also congratulations to Jace Judson for placing 2nd, Grant Ochs 6th, Grant Fulton 12th, and Meyer Tarr 18th.

Congratulations to the Newton Ag Mech team for placing first at the section contest. Congrats to Jake Ochs for placing first in carpentry, Alex Kaufmann for placing first in Surveying, Dominic Utley for placing first in electricity, Evan Zumbalhen for placing first in Ag Power.
