It’s #NationalCornChipDay! That’s our kind of holiday! Corn chips are not the only mode of celebrating the day. There are tortilla chips, potato chips, pretzel chips, and even popcorn chips to name a few. Don’t forget any kind of chip bag is trash! newtonma.gov/recycling

Keep #plasticbags out of the #recycling bin. Recyclables must be put in the cart loose--not in bags. Bring your plastic casewrap, ziplock bags, produce bags, and bubble wrap back to a grocery/retail store with your plastic bags.

The last week of yard waste collection is Dec. 9. This collection schedule is weather dependent, meaning if it snows heavily, the service could be postponed or cancelled. It's our busiest time of the year. Some collection delays may happen, please keep yard waste at the curb.

Aluminum is very recyclable and has a high market value. Make sure your roasting pan, loaf pans, pie plates and tin containers get recycled! They are easy to clean: just soak them in soapy dishwater for a bit, rinse and place in the recycling bin.
