Note that Turnitin is using the word "sure". Now let's look at OpenAI. They don't use the word "sure". They talk about a "classifier threshold >0.98" and are clear that 9% of human text gets a false positive while only 26% of AI text gets the label. It's wrong a LOT.

Let's compare Turnitin's claims about its AI text detection tool vs. OpenAI's claims about its own AI text detection tool. Remember, OpenAI invented ChatGPT. Turnitin claims a less than 1% false positive rate for human text being flagged as AI text. OpenAI claims a 9% rate.

@mart_compton Were you able to opt out because of GDPR? We received this reponse from Turnitin: "At this time this option is not scalable to offer to US institutions as it is a very manual process and we don't have the staff to manage such a large-scale request."
