Slang Word: "Bleak" 😞❌ Meaning: Depressing, hopeless, or really bad—used to describe situations, moods, or outcomes that don’t look good. 📌 Usage Examples: ✔ "My bank account is looking bleak after all that shopping." 💸😩 ✔ "The weather is so bleak today—just gray skies and rain." 🌧️☁️ ✔ "Their chances of winning the game are pretty bleak." 🏀❌ 💡 Think of it like this: If something is bleak, it’s not looking good, has no hope, or feels depressing. 😞 Want to sound more like a native speaker? @imalbertoalonso If you’re ever in the area around Halloween, their “Hallowscream” is out of this world. They have high school students chasing you around with bladeless chain saws, etc. it’s so over the top 😂 And I’ll look up Falcon’s Flight!

@NextStepEnglish I was at Busch Gardens in 1997. It was amazing! I’ve never been to King’s Dominion but it’s on my bucket list. If you like steep drops check out Falcon’s Flight in S. Arabia. It’s opening this year and will smash all previous records. youtu.be/CT34InWl2lM?fe…

Idiom: "Go on a Wild Goose Chase" 🦢🏃‍♂️ Meaning: To waste time searching for something that is difficult or impossible to find; to pursue a hopeless or pointless task. 📌 Usage Examples: ✔ "I spent hours looking for that rare book, but it was a wild goose chase." 📚❌ ✔ "They told me I could get cheap concert tickets, but it was just a wild goose chase." 🎟️🤦‍♂️ ✔ "Trying to track down the missing document was a wild goose chase." 🏢📄 💡 Think of it like this: Geese are hard to catch because they move quickly and unpredictably. If you’re chasing a wild goose, you’re running around aimlessly with no success! 🏃‍♂️🦢 Your English goals are within reach—let’s do this! 👉 Get my FREE lesson here: letsmasterenglish.com/free-lesson Together, LET'S MASTER ENGLISH!

My lunch today—oatmeal with chia seeds—was tasty, but it looked like gruel! 🥣 GRUEL = a cheap simple food made, especially in the past, by boiling oats with water or milk (This word has a connotation of the food being unpleasant—almost like it’s a punishment to eat it.) #ESL
