This is Lieutenant Colonel Olabisi Olalekan Ayeni
the acting deputy director of Public Relations for
the Nigerian Army
He was the one behind the spurious report that
Nigerian Army discovered IEDs in Imo while in
essence the blurred coordinates he posted,
actually showed Oyo and Lagos.
Nigerian Army, this is outrageous and horrendous
and we the good people of Imo State, South East
and Alaigbo in general are not taking this lightly.
This situation has caused serious concern among
our people. Many people believe that such a
misleading report unfairly damages the reputation
of the region and further deepens the already
existing mistrust between the people and the
military.
In any serious and accountable system, an officer
who releases misleading information of this
magnitude would be expected to take
responsibility. Many Nigerians believe that Lt. Col.
Ayeni should step aside or face disciplinary action
for publishing information that appears to
nisrepresent facts and tarnish the image of an
entire state.
This is not simply a case of poor communication
or careless reporting. When security information is
wrongly presented, it can have very dangerous
consequences. It can cause unnecessary fear
among the public, create the impression that
certain areas are unsafe when they are not, and at
the same time divert attention from real security
challenges that may exist elsewhere.
What happened to investing same energy in the
Vorth and southwest where terrorism is always
the talk of the day? But every Eke market day, they
choose to maliciously and hypocritically focus on
southeast pinning "insecurity" on the relatively
peaceful region.
Because of situations like this, many young Igbo
men and women are gradually losing confidence in
the Nigerian Army as an institution that represents
every Nigerian equally. There is a growing
perception that prejudice, discrimination, and
propaganda may be used against them. This
perception has contributed to the declining
willingness of many young people from the region
to enlist in the military

Major Shamsudeen Sani, who has been serving with the army in the Northeast for several months, has been detained and denied the right to see his two wives and his children.
The only “crime” he committed was withdrawing his soldiers from the battlefield at a time when he had urgently requested reinforcement troops and emergency equipment but received none while they were locked in combat with ISWAP fighters and he ordered his men to pull back after realizing the enemy was about to overpower them.
What is your opinion about him

The US military successfully tested a high-power microwave weapon capable of neutralizing drones in seconds.
In one trial, the system disabled 49 out of 61 target drones with a single deployment, using directed electromagnetic pulses to disrupt onboard electronics without physical destruction.
Unlike conventional anti-drone measures, such as nets or missiles, this non-lethal system reduces collateral damage and allows precise targeting of swarms. The technology can protect military bases, airports, and urban centers from aerial threats efficiently and cost-effectively.
