People can do what they want but I hope they understand that once Sony goes full digital this won't happen. The only reason they have sales now is to compete with retail. This affects everyone but some people are too stupid to even think about that simple fact.

@GRich_456 I can't believe no one saw this coming. Have they been to a Gamestop, Wal-Mart, Target, or Best Buy in the last 5 years. The physical game sections are ghost towns short of Nintendo.

I love physical games just as much as the next guy but people, if you actually cared about them you shouldn’t of been buying digital at a significantly higher rate over the last 10+ years🤷🏾‍♂️ the data shows people aren’t buy physical games at a rate that’s viable anymore. It’s over

Sorry for being so vocal about Sony drama, i know you follow me because of art, but it's hard to be silent when they are taking away the one thing i enjoy more of videogames which is owning them physically. I'll constantly keep retweeting and tweeting about it until it resolves.

Wanted to buy cyberpunk today, saw it still at $60 on the PS store, checked how much local retailers were selling the physical and found it for $30. At the end of the day, that’s all this is about. A monopoly only ensures every consumer loses.

Agreed, AAA games are pushing to 150-200GB, which is more than the capacity of these “physical” discs anyway. Games will increasingly contain generative media, so that may allow for smaller install bases and expand based on user interaction. Movie storefronts like Apple TV would ideally follow Steam’s example, in which customers retain access to titles in the event they get delisted. Anyway, it’s never happened to any of the movies in my Apple TV library, except for temporary restrictions while they upgrade my HD copy to 4K Dolby Vision for free!

The physical media thing isn’t about screwing over the consumer. The people who care are a loud and angry minority. Most people like the system where your games are just there and you can play them without having a bunch of garbage in your house. Steam is the most consumer-friendly platform and it has been a major factor in the death of physical media. Most people are fine with their game collections being a Steam library rather than a bookshelf of disks. That is why the market for disks has been collapsing.

@DanFriedman81 Exactly, I love being all Digital, I don't have bookshelves full of games that to me look tacky. If I really like a game I can add some kind of decor to my home. Having said that, it doesn't mean I don't want Digital Ownership Rights, that is the Right Fight.

Here’s what “Digital-Only Gaming” means🚀 ✅If your account is hacked/lost/suspended, you lose the games you paid for ✅If the PSN (or any service network) is down, you can’t access games you paid for ✅If you change your region, by their terms, you need to create a new account because they have no account region change or transfer, so you lose the games you paid for ✅If you don’t use your account for 36 months, you lose the games you paid for because Sony, by their terms, will take steps to close your account ✅If you aren’t connected to the internet, you cannot access the games you paid for ✅If a digital license expires or any falling out occurs between the digital storefront and the game’s studio/publisher, you will lose access to games you paid for (like they removed 500 movie purchases without compensation just 2 weeks ago) So if you consider this “the future” and “the evolution” cool, enjoy! Not everyone likes to be c**ked by corporations and scammed for their money, over things they bought and paid for. A video game you bought that can be taken away anytime, is no different nor less serious than a refrigerator, a piece of clothing, a car or a hairdryer that you bought, and somehow the manufacturer can switch off from their end without compensation.
