I really don’t understand what Simi has done wrong to deserve being dragged and called names. She spoke about a rape issue, and instead of focusing on the matter, many of you immediately shifted the conversation to false rape accusations. At no point did she say false accusers shouldn’t face consequences. Her point was simply that we should stay focused on the issue at hand instead of derailing it. If Mirabel lied about being raped, investigations will reveal the truth and justice will take its course. That’s how it should work. But we also can’t ignore cases where victims like Fems have real, proven experiences and deserve support and accountability. What’s happening now is that the focus has moved away from the actual issue, and people are more interested in attacking individuals like Simi and turning it into unnecessary arguments, even bringing in her husband Adekunle Gold. This isn’t about gender wars or “what about” debates. It should be about justice, accountability, and keeping the conversation where it belongs.
