People are confused why we’re so mad about a nickname. There hasn’t been another artist with the same name debuting under the same company before. When they do, one will be given a stage name to help with branding differentiation. The nickname is secondary. True, a fan might say it, but if no one speaks up, others will start using it too. Many fans have known Sakura since the AKB48 era. There’s an associated nostalgic memory to each nickname beyond just being cute. 39 was her IG handle name also how we addressing ourselves. ‘Kkura was called by her members during the IZONE era up until now. she also used it for her show ‘Fearless Kkura’. During the show, 🥐 came up cos she has to make one and play with the name Kkura chan-kkurasan. Saki came when their song ‘1-800’ was released, and they’re now using that very nickname in another upcoming song too. Some of these memories are also tide with something bitter that’s only as 39s fan can understand. The way her name was made known is due to her and the fans’ hard work over all these years. What the company has done is deliberately dismissed that, and it’s ungracious.
