We are witnessing a troubling and dangerous trend: the recruitment of Zimbabwean citizens who end up in foreign armies and participate in armed conflicts beyond our borders. This is not a matter of legitimate military service. It is a sophisticated scheme of deception, exploitation, and human trafficking that has already resulted in the loss of Zimbabwean lives. It is with profound sorrow that I confirm to the nation that, to date, 15 Zimbabwean nationals have lost their lives in foreign battlefields after being deceived into enlisting in foreign wars.

Zimpapers remains Zimbabwe’s largest and most influential mass media company, strategically important to our national communication. They are well diversified, in terms of what we implore. When one of their entities fails, they must be able to stand from the other entities which they are running in their portfolios.

@nickmangwana Baba Masuku was our veteran indeed, MHSRIP.

It is with profound sadness that we have learnt of the untimely passing of Veteran Broadcaster, Mr John Masuku. I had the privilege of interacting extensively with Mr Masuku, whom I regarded as a father-in-law, as his daughter is married to my dear friend, Dr Dilesh Nguwaya. Our sector has not only lost a pillar and mentor, but a true broadcasting icon. We condole with the whole family, friends and the sector players.

"We are excited as Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services to be here at the official launch of Tongogara FM. A radio that has been afforded to this community. You will be aware that Tongogara community is a community that has lost almost everything. All that they have remained with is their voices. So as Government we thought it fit, in line with the thrust of our President Dr E.D Mnangagwa, the thrust of leaving no one and no place behind, that they be prioritised among the 14 radio stations that have been launched so far. We are very much excited with this launch which will improve the livelihood of the people here in Tongogara by way of enabling them to communicate, to share their perspective and ideas and also to allow them to contribute to national development." Hon. Soda

NHIMBE FM COMMUNITY ALERT (100.9)
Parents Raise Safety Concerns Over Rusape River Bridge Near St Joseph’s Primary
Parents of pupils at St Joseph’s Primary School in Rusape are being urged to take collective action over safety concerns at the small bridge crossing the Rusape River, which children use daily to get to school.
A parent who crossed the bridge around 11AM today says water levels are dangerously high due to increased inflow into the dam, making the crossing risky especially for young children.
“Kana mwana akabatwa nedzungu kana kuti akasundwa, zvinogona kutinetsa zvikuru,” the parent warned, adding that the situation needs urgent attention.
The call is for a shared responsibility between parents and school authorities to ensure children can cross safely, particularly during this rainy period.
“Safety yevana vedu ndiyo inokosha kupfuura zvese,” the parent emphasized.
Parents with children attending St Joseph’s Primary are encouraged to engage the school and relevant authorities to find immediate and long-term solutions.

📜 Key Changes in SI 10 of 2026 - Vehicle Registration and Licensing Act (Chapter 13:14).
Nhimbe FM established that according to reports and the gazetted regulations:
📌 Number Plate & Registration Fees
First-time vehicle, motorcycle or trailer number plate: US $50 (previously US $500).
Change of ownership:
With new plates: US $95.
Retaining existing plates: US $15.
Replacement of lost public service vehicle plates: US $85.
Duplicate third plate: US $35.
Personalised plates: remain more expensive (e.g., about US $2,500 - US $5,000 depending on engine capacity and category).
These adjustments reduce costs significantly compared with the previously very high fees particularly the dramatic cut in number plate costs and are aimed at lowering the cost of compliance with vehicle registration and licensing requirements.
🪪 Why This Matters
The cuts were first announced by government officials in September 2025 as part of broader reforms to ease the cost of doing business by reducing regulatory fees.
However, those announced cuts could not take effect immediately until the regulatory amendments were formally gazetted which has now occurred with SI 10 of 2026.
🛞 What Remains the Same
Some categories like personalised plates still carry high fees, reflecting their premium nature and continued revenue-raising role.

Rusape Town Council is appealing to residents to refrain from blocking sewer lines or disposing of items that disrupt the free flow of sewage. Such practices cause blockages, sewer bursts, and pose serious health and environmental risks to the community. Residents are urged to use the sewer system responsibly and to dispose of waste properly.
Below are some of the items that were recently found in the sewer system.
